Throughout Wednesday, July 26-Saturday, July 30, 2023 Prep Baseball Report Future Games were held in Emerson, Georgia at our LakePoint Sports Complex. For this event the various PBR staffs from around the country selected the best uncommitted rising juniors and sophomores to form teams to represent their state or region in the event, bringing well over 450 of the best uncommitted players in the United States and Canada to one four field quad for 4 days.

For this event, players from Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and DC were selected to form Team Mid-Atlantic. Players on Team Mid-Atlantic had a position player showcase workout on Wednesday and then played in three games, one per day, Thursday-Saturday, going 1-1-1 against Team Florida, Team Carolinas, and Team California. Scouts from all 30 MLB teams and well over 350 college coaches were in attendance.

Burton's Analysis

Jackson Toole 3B / OF / Glen Allen, VA / 2025

The Glen Allen product was the first member of Team Mid-Atlantic to make his commitment since the recruiting period opened, announcing his commitment to Longwood. Right handed hitter that projects defensively to fit in left field/first base long term. Contact bat, doubles power, and does not swing and miss much. Toole is aggressive early in counts and has a solid bat to ball ability. He could benefit from pitch selection and zone discipline when it comes to swing decisions. This would help his quality of contact and ability to impact the baseball when he is aggressive early in counts. Hit tool type of bat that when the swing decisions get tightened up, he can tap into some of the power a little more frequently.
