OXFORD, AL - The Top Prospect Games (Upperclass) was held on Tuesday, June 21st at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, AL. This event was an invite-only event that consisted of some of the top prospects from the 2023-2024 classes. These players went through a pro-style workout and took batting practice using Trackman and Blast Motion to record hitting metrics. Pitchers were able to throw in simulated outings facing hitters during gameplay and were able to get numbers and metrics off of our Trackman unit, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement & much more. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Tuesday. 

Today we wrap up our individual scouting reports on each player present as we take a look at the pitchers from the event. 

Kenneth Diddell, Mountain Brook (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP
Body: 5-11, 150-pounds. Lean frame with long limbs and strength to be added.
Delivery: Up-tempo delivery into leg-lift before featuring a different arm slot to hitters.
Arm Action: RH. Quick arm from a true sidearm slot, creating a ton of action on all offerings.
FB: T79.7, 78.0-79.2 mph. Really works well to the arm-side, sneaky quick. Creates major ASR from the low slot.  T2147, 2049 average rpm.
SL: 66.6-68.0 mph. Tight action with difficult spin to pick up. Really sharp action with late, sweeping action (frisbee).  T2394, 2150 average rpm.
CH: 64.9-66.2 mph. A major weapon vs. LH hitters. Late fade that disappears away from barrels.  T1545, 1496 average rpm.

Will Greenwood, Jacksonville (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 5-8, 160-pounds. Medium build, plenty of room for added strength.
Delivery: Compact delivery, drop and drive lower-half, remains in-line to the plate with front foot landing closed.
Arm Action: RH. Shorter draw, arm stays connected, low window, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T79.2, 76.5-79.2 mph. Stayed down in the zone with some sink, produced a bunch of ground balls.  T2305, 2207 average rpm.
CB: 69.0-71.1 mph. Late breaker, showing solid depth with 12/6 shape. T2149, 2113 average rpm.
CH:  Works with similar arm speed to the fastball, plays straight. T2136, 2136 average rpm.

Dominic Rosa, Bob Jones (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: 2B/RHP
Body: 6-1, 130-pounds. Extremely long and lean frame, projectable body.
Delivery: Works with tempo and rhythm, on-line finish.
Arm Action: RH. Full arm circle, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T74.9, 72.4-74.6 mph. Plays with arm-side run. T2144, 2032 average rpm.
CB: 60.4-63.1 mph. Showed some late depth with 12/6 action.  T1963, 1941 average rpm.

Ryan Vermillion, Vestavia Hills (AL), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 6-0, 150-pounds. Slimmer frame, long limbs, projectable.
Delivery: Slower, controlled delivery, works with ease and on-line down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Loose, easy out front, mid 3/4 slot.
FB: T84.7, 82.2-84.0 mph. Showed sink with ASR, got "in" on RH hitters.  T2407, 2159 average rpm.
SL: 68.0-70.4 mph. Power breaking ball that he commanded to both sides of the plate.  T2435, 2346 average rpm.

Ryan Everly, Sparkman (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5-10, 165-pounds. Medium build, proportional strength, some athleticism.
Delivery: Quick/up-tempo delivery, drop/drive lower-half while striding in-line, front foot landing closed.
Arm Action: RH. Short arm action from a mid 3/4 slot.
FB: T86.1, 83.7-85.7 mph. Lively out of hand, some ASR, pounded the zone. T2463, 2268 average rpm.
SL: 74.5-76.1 mph. Late sweeping 10/4 action. T2229, 2144 average rpm. 

Nicholas McCord, Oak Mountain (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5-11, 165-pounds. Compact frame, athletic, continues to fill out with strength.
Delivery: Loose/athletic delivery, drop/drive lower-half while remaining in-line with a long stride, foot lands square.
Arm Action: RH. Long/loose arm out of the glove before moving into a mid 3/4 arm slot.
FB: T86, 82.3-85.1 mph. Created some downward tilt with late sink.  T2177, 1934 average rpm.
CB: 70.0-72.1 mph. Showed late, downer action with 11/5 shape. T2109, 1896 average rpm.
CH: 71.2-73.1 mph. Thrown with fastball intent, occasionally played with late arm-side action T1231, 1106 average rpm.

Easton Peed, Cullman (AL), 2023
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5-9, 165-pounds. Medium frame, some athleticism, proportional strength.
Delivery: Up-tempo delivery into leg-lift before working into a drop/drive lower-half, stays in-line.
Arm Action: RH. Shorter arm slot from a high 3/4 slot, quick arm.
FB: T84.2, 83.2-84.1 mph. Commanded to all quadrants of the zone with heavy ASR.  T2073, 1918 average rpm.
SL: 73.6-75.3 mph. Sharp, late break that he was able to land for S/M vs. hitters.  T2148, 2077 average rpm.
CH: 75.2-75.9 mph. Possibly his best pitch, thrown with tons of confidence. Tunnels well with the FB, showing legit sink.  T1753, 1592 average rpm.

Evan Snow, Alexandria (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5-9, 165-pounds. Compact, athletic body, room for added strength.
Delivery: Deliberate, controlled, tall and fall type delivery. Lands front toe closed.
Arm Action: RH. Easy arm path; clean, mid 3/4 slot.
FB: T78.2, 75.2-78.0 mph. Thrown as more of a cutter with consistent late action away from RH hitters.  T2244, 2101 average rpm.
CB: 60.9-63.7 mph. Solid 11/5 action while also showing late depth.  T2404, 2346 average rpm.

Hayden Greer, John Carroll Catholic (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: OF/LHP
Body: 6-1, 168-pounds. Long and lean frame, projectable, more strength coming.
Delivery: Moves down the mound with a drop/drive lower-half, striding in-line and landing square to the plate.
Arm Action: LH. Loose arm action. High 3/4 arm slot.
FB: T75.8, 73.6-75.2 mph. Showed arm-side action with feel for the zone. T2346, 2221 average rpm.
CB:  Late 1/7 action with depth. T1919, 1919 average rpm.
CH:  Arm-side fade with feel for the zone. T1791, 1791 average rpm.

Sam Carter, Chelsea (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 5-10, 170-pounds. Strong, compact frame, twitchy and athletic.
Delivery: Tall and fall delivery, lands square on ball of foot, balanced finish.
Arm Action: RH. Long, loose mid 3/4 arm path.
FB: T84.1, 81.2-83.3 mph. Jumps some out the hand, showed the ability to elevate the pitch when needed.  T2047, 1995 average rpm.
CB: 63.9-69.5 mph. Very solid offering. 12/6 depth showing late depth.  T2415, 2274 average rpm. 

Judson Collins, Hartselle (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 5-10, 170-pounds. Medium, well-proportioned frame.
Delivery: Clean, athletic delivery. Uses the lower half well.
Arm Action: RH. Long path, slight wrapping action, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T78.9, 77.7-78.7 mph. Mostly straight with late life into the zone.  T2238, 2148 average rpm.
CB: 63.7-68.0 mph. Spins of a 12/6 plane, flashed late downer action. T2034, 1944 average rpm.
CH: Thrown with fastball intent and showed late tumble to the arm side. T1425, 1425 average rpm. 

Nathan Owen, Evangel Christian (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: MIF/RHP
Body: 5-8, 170-pounds. Sturdy, compact build with proportional strength.
Delivery: Quick/up-tempo delivery, drop/drive lower-half while striding in-line, front foot landing closed.
Arm Action: RH. Short, quick arm- clean arm path. Works from a high 3/4 slot.
FB: T83.7, 80.8-83.5 mph. Comes out of the hand well with 2-seam action into RH hitters. T2334, 2244 average rpm.
CB: 68.8-69.9 mph. Gradual 11/5 shape, showed a ton of confidence in the pitch. T2480, 2441 average rpm.
CH: Nice deception out of the hand with the same fastball arm speed, mostly straight T2164, 2164 average rpm. 

Alex Petty, Munford (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 5-11, 170-pounds. Medium build with some physicality.
Delivery: Athletic delivery, loads at top of balance point, works directionally into landing, balanced finish
Arm Action: RH. Clean, loose arm action, mid 3/4 slot.
FB: T79.6, 76.2-78.6 mph. Showed nice sink while creating ground balls and a fair amount of S/M. Worked both halves of the plate.  T1948, 1813 average rpm.
SL: 65.1-69.0 mph. Thrown with fastball conviction, tighter shape, stayed around the zone. T2004, 1965 average rpm.

Grant Williams, Prattville (AL), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 6-1, 170-pounds. Medium frame with some projection.
Delivery: Relaxed tempo on the mound, slight drop/drive lower-half while striding in-ine, front foot lands square.
Arm Action: RH. Short, connected arm action. High 3/4 slot.
FB: T72.9, 69.7-72.9 mph. Mostly starting but the pitch seemed to have occasional cut.  T1900, 1744 average rpm.
CB: 60.5-61.9 mph. His best pitch, showed late 12/6 action with late, sharp depth.  T1802, 1718 average rpm.
CH: 66.0-66.5 mph. Premium sink into RH hitters. T1564, 1501 average rpm. 

Chris Billingsley, Bibb County (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 6-3, 175-pounds. Athletic, long frame, projectable body with long limbs.
Delivery: Slow and controlled delivery, works with ease and on-line down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Long, loose arm stroke, fluid and quick out of 3/4 slot.
FB: T88.8, 83.6-87.9 mph. Showed late life and seemed to get on hitters fairly quick, late sink.  T2204, 2064 average rpm.
CB: 68.3-73.6 mph. Gradual 11/5 shape with late depth.  T2747, 2621 average rpm.
CH:  Flashed arm-side fade. T1949, 1949 average rpm.

Ethan Kick, Spanish Fort (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 6-2, 175-pounds. Long and projectable build.
Delivery: Low-effort, smooth, tall and fall delivery. Coil through front side at balance point. Works on line. Lands front toe closed.
Arm Action: RH. Really clean arm circle into a mid 3/4 slot.
FB: T81.4, 79.4- 81.1 mph. Consistently stayed on both corners, hardly ever threw over the heart of the plate. Natural sink down in the zone.  T2089, 1942 average rpm.
SL:  71.3- 72.4 mph. Solid sweeping action with tight spin. Really pounded the zone with the pitch forcing multiple S/M and weak contact.  T2292, 2258 average rpm.

Matthew Sheffield, Northridge (AL), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP/1B
Body: 6-1, 175-pounds. Athletic, lean frame, room for strength.
Delivery: Simple delivery, medium lift stays compact.
Arm Action: RH. Long/loose arm from a mid 3/4 slot.
FB: T85.9, 81.6-85.0 mph. Two-seam type that showed arm-side run. late life.  T2138, 2053 average rpm.
SL: 71.8-74.6 mph. Tight 10/4 shape, able to command to the gloveside.  T2329, 2208 average rpm.
CH: 75.7-78.8 mph. Used very well vs. LH hitters as the pitch showed late fade to the arm-side.  T1661, 1616 average rpm.

Ford Moffatt, Mountain Brook (AL), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 6-3, 180-pounds. Long-limbed frame with projectable build.
Delivery: Simple delivery, medium lift stays compact.
Arm Action: RH. Short arm circle, fluid through mid 3/4 release; looseness throughout.
FB: T82.2, 80.2-81.8 mph. Induced a bunch of ground balls, showed nice ASR and late sink.  T2108, 1996 average rpm.
CB: 68.6-71.6 mph. Commanded the pitch well for strikes with nice tilt on a well shaped 12/6 breaker.  T2141, 2095 average rpm.

Andrew Pitts, Hoover (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: OF/LHP
Body: 5-10, 180-pounds. Medium frame, physicality in lower-half with proportional strength.
Delivery: Relaxed tempo on the mound, slight drop/drive lower-half while striding in-ine, front foot lands square.
Arm Action: LH. Really clean arm path, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T78.7, 75.4-77.6 mph. Two-seam type with late ASR and some sink. Located to both halves of the plate.  T2199, 2122 average rpm.
CB: 67.5-69.8 mph. 1/7 action with late, tight spin.  T2245, 2208 average rpm.
CH: 69.6-71.4 mph. Works the bottom of the zone, occasional fade. T1817, 1705 average rpm.

Eli Tidwell, Hartselle (AL), 2023
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP One of the top uncommitted players in the 2023 class in AL.
Body: 5-10, 180-pounds. Athletic, medium frame, lower-half strength.
Delivery: Simple delivery, medium lift stays compact.
Arm Action: RH. Really quick arm strike from a high 3/4 slot.
FB: T84.6, 82.8-84.2 mph. Commanded the bottom half of the zone, showed occasional cut.  T2146, 1894 average rpm.
CB: 73.6-75.4 mph. Really solid offering. Late movement with tight 11/5 action.  T2248, 2094 average rpm.
CH: 75.8-79.6 mph. Plays straight, flashes sinking action at times. T1614, 1614 average rpm.

Andrew Allen, Alexandria (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 6-0, 185-pounds. Projectable frame with strength.
Delivery: Easy, balanced delivery with minimal effort.
Arm Action: RH. Shows a mid 3/4 slot from a short arm stroke, hides the ball well.
FB: T83.8, 81.3-83.4 mph. Hard-running sinker type. Commanded down in the zone.  T2388, 2153 average rpm.
SL: 68.3-70.6 mph. 11/5 shape, gradual action, landed for strikes. T2173, 2033 average rpm.
CH: 72.6-73.1 mph. Maintains fastball arm speed and slot, spotted down. T1899, 1759 average rpm.

John Robicheaux, Mountain Brook (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: OF/RHP Top-20 prospect with elite tools across the board.
Body: 6-2, 185-pounds. Uber-athletic build, more room to fill out.
Delivery: Loose/athletic delivery, drop/drive lower-half with a long stride that remains in-line to the plate, front foot lands square.
Arm Action: RH. Mid 3/4 slot, clean arm path through release.
FB: T86.7, 82.0-85.0 mph. Clean out of the hands, pounded the zone with the pitch, late life with some ASR.  T2151, 1848 average rpm.
CB: 65.2-66.2 mph. Showed more side-to-side action (11/5 shape) with true late break.  T1897, 1885 average rpm.
CH: Maintained fastball arm speed with deception, showed cut at times. T1514, 1514 average rpm.

Lawson Williams, Hartselle (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: 1B/RHP
Body: 6-1, 185-pounds. Medium frame with some physicality.
Delivery: Repeatable delivery, works online with balance, tall and fall type.
Arm Action: RH. Long arm action. Works from a mid 3/4 arm slot.
FB: T79.1, 77.0-78.8 mph. Late action to the arm-side. Showed sink at times with solid command.  T2041, 1966 average rpm.
CB: 62.4-70.3 mph. Solid 11/5 shape, flashed feel for the zone. T2281, 1955 average rpm.
CH: 72.1-73.4 mph. Solid deception with late tumble into RH hitters. T1466, 1426 average rpm. 

Gabriel Young, Mountain Brook (AL), 2023
Positional Profile: OF/LHP One of the top uncommitted players in the 2023 class in AL.
Body: 5-11, 192-pounds. Strong, athletic build.
Delivery: Easy low effort delivery, strong front side, squared landing, gets into lower half.
Arm Action: LH. Hides the ball well from a mid 3/4 slot,clean arm path.
FB: T88.9, 85.4-87.6 mph. Easy out of the hand, the pitch showed late ASR with fade.  T2067, 1983 average rpm.
CB: 71.9-73.9 mph. Tight, late spin on a well-shaped 1/7 breaking ball. Hard to pick up for hitters. T2444, 2365 average rpm.
CH: 79.4-81.0 mph. Quality secondary offering. Maintained the same arm speed and slot as the FB.  T1797, 1709 average rpm.

Taurus Ceasor Jr., Faith Academy (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 5-9, 195-pounds. Physical, athletic frame.
Delivery: Even tempo delivery, tall and fall, full windup, lift and go.
Arm Action: RH. Short out of the glove into a mid 3/4 arm slot.
FB: T77.1, 76.5-77.1 mph. Commanded the pitch down in the zone with some occasional cut. T1928, 1725 average rpm.
CB: 65.8-71.2 mph. Really solid secondary offering, thrown for strikes with nice depth (12/6 action). T1896, 1870 average rpm.

Ethan Clark, Sparkman (AL), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP
Body: 6-3, 195-pounds. Durable, long-limbed frame with room for strength.
Delivery: Clean delivery, strong lower half. Works downhill very well.
Arm Action: RH. Shorter arm stroke from a high 3/4 slot.
FB: T86.7, 81.7-86.7 mph. Commanded down in the zone with late ASR.  T2128, 1976 average rpm.
CB: 66.9-70.0 mph. 12/6 action with quality depth.  T2149, 2000 average rpm.
CH: 74.0-76.1 mph. Impressive pitch that played well off the FB, showing late arm-side fade.  T1468, 1442 average rpm.

Bo Bachtel, Gardendale (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: OF/3B
Body: 6-0, 200-pounds. Strong frame.
Delivery: Relaxed tempo on the mound, slight drop/drive lower-half while striding in-ine, front foot lands square.
Arm Action: RH. Short arm action from a high 3/4 action.
FB: T82.2, 78.8-81.4 mph. Consistently attacked the lower half of the zone, showed some sink.  T2475, 2343 average rpm.
CB: 64.5-66.9 mph. Gradual 11/5 action, sharp late break. T2645, 2535 average rpm.
CH: 71.0-74.8 mph. Thrown with fastball intent with arm-side fade. T1777, 1739 average rpm.

Carson Joyner, Bayside Academy (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 5-11, 200-pounds. Durable, strong build with proportional strength.
Delivery: Controlled delivery into leg-lift before working into a drop/drive lower-half, stays in-line.
Arm Action: RH. Clean arm action, mid 3/4 slot.
FB: T88.2, 85.1-87.6 mph. Flashed arm-side run/sink, located to the bottom of the zone.  T2190, 1948 average rpm.
SL: 70.1-73.4 mph. Looks like FB out of the hand. Tight, late 11/5 action.  T2496, 2333 average rpm.
CH: 75.6-78.0 mph. Same arm speed as the fastball. Mostly straight with late sink. T1723, 1610 average rpm. 

Samuel Henegar, Alexandria (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: 1B/RHP
Body: 6-1, 205-pounds. Strong frame with physicality.
Delivery:  Slight drop and drive delivery, hips and shoulders tilted uphill, lands square.
Arm Action: RH. Long arm action. High 3/4 slot.
FB: T77.3, 74.3- 76.8 mph. Consistently down in the zone, the pitch showed occasional cut as he was able to command to all quadrants. T1970, 1824 average rpm.
CB:  60.4- 62.2 mph. 11/5 shape with late action. Located well to the gloveside.  T1895, 1642 average rpm.
CH:  61.3 mph. Solid deception with late tumble into RH hitters. T1155

Garrison Kahn, Oak Mountain (AL), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP/3B A top '23 uncommitted arm in Alabama.
Body: 6-3, 185-pounds. Projectable, long frame.
Delivery: Smooth tempo down the mound, works with a tall/fall lower-half, creating shoulder tilt at release, striding in-line.
Arm Action: RH. Long, loose arm action. Plays from a high 3/4 arm slot.
FB: T89.8, 85.5-88.0 mph. Two-seam action that consistently ate RH bats up, the pitch showed late life.  T2008, 1795 average rpm.
CB: 72.6-74.7 mph. Showed late, fairly sharp downer action. Really tight spin.  T2293, 2244 average rpm.
SL: 73.2-74.8 mph. Harder, sharper break than the breaking ball with S/M action.  T2274, 2260 average rpm.
CH: 76.5-79.4 mph. Works well off the FB with the same arm speed, very deceptive.  T2410, 2156 average rpm.

Chase Cartron, Huntsville (AL), 2024
Positional Profile: 1B/LHP
Body: 6-6, 225-pounds. Wide shoulders, strong frame with length.
Delivery: Powerful drop/drive lower-half, foot lands square while remaining tall through release.
Arm Action: LH. Clean, efficient arm path into a mid 3/4 slot.
FB: T85.4, 82.3-84.8 mph. Located well to both sides of the plate with typical LHP 2-seam action. Showed late life.  T2174, 1881 average rpm.
CB:  70.1- 72.3 mph. Spins off of a 11/5 plane, did flash late downer action. The pitch has consistently gotten better.  T1924,  1814 average rpm.
CH:  74.1- 76.2 mph. Solid sink away from RH hitters.  T1776, 1578 average rpm.
 
Brian Henson Jr, Buckhorn (AL), 2023
Positional Profile: 1B/LHP
Body: 6-1, 230-pounds. Large frame with physicality.
Delivery: Slow and controlled tall and fall delivery, plays on-line, lands square and minimal effort throughout
Arm Action: LH. Clean arm circle, mid 3/4 slot with a loose arm action.
FB: T85.1, 80.2-83.3 mph. Showed late life and was able to command the pitch to both sides.  T2135, 2039 average rpm.
CB: Solid 1/7 action with tight spin, S/M secondary offering.  T1957, 1957 average rpm.
SL: Thrown with more intent than the curveball. More side-to-side action.  T1937, 1937 average rpm.
CH:  Plays straight, flashes sinking action at times. T1986, 1986 average rpm.
