Demetrio Crisantes SS / 2B / Nogales, AZ / 2022

6-foot 180 pounds, Demetrio Crisantes has been one of the most exciting athletes in Arizona during his time at Nogales. Coming from a great family, Crisantes is not only is a highly respected baseball player, but is a respected human being with a great makeup and constant work ethic.

Crisantes turned in not only a fantastic senior campaign, but a very colorful high school career. In 2022, Crisantes batted .485 with 15 2B, 4 3B, and 7 HR, while driving in 26 runs and scoring 48 runs. He stole 8 bases in 2022 and played a high level SS. In his career, Crisantes was a .476 hitter, recording nearly 100 hits and 100 runs scored.

Crisantes was one of the handful of senior leaders on this Nogales team, and was clearly the scariest bat in the Apache lineup. His presence in the middle infield was another key to his teams 2022 State Runner-Up season, and 31-4 record. His skillset features an above average hit tool with some power potential, a great understanding of the strike zone with great bat to ball skills, a steady glove, and an opportunity to play on the left side at the next level.

The skilled athlete will continue his athletic career at the University of Arizona.. that's if he makes it to school. There has been some draft buzz floating around Crisantes' name through 2022, and it has been very much deserved. Whether Crisantes lands with a professional organization, or with the Wildcats in Tucson, expect him to continue building on the success that he has had thus far. The Nogales boy will get to play in front of his family and friends at the University of Arizona, where he will continue to develop his game and improve his stock. If Crisantes' name is not called in the 2022 MLB Draft, anticipate it happening in 2025.

We've gotten to see Crisantes develop and refine his skills over the years, as he was initially committed to New Mexico State University, but reopened his recruitment and found himself committing to Arizona in August of 2021.

Each time out, Crisantes found himself right in the middle of the Apaches success. And with the skillset and leadership qualities he possess, we could choose nobody more deserving than Demetrio Crisantes to be named PBR Arizona's Player of the Year in 2022.
