Florida 2025 Rankings Update

Rocco Iervasi
PBR Florida Director of Operations/Area Scout

This week we continue with our Player Ranking updates and move on to the 2025 class. These 2025’s are starting their sophomore year this fall and have shown a lot of talent early so far. Our initial Class of 2025 rankings started at 50 players and we have expanded the list all the way to 100. Check out the breakdown of the top 5, some big risers, and lots of newcomers to the list.

We have a new name at No. 1 this time around with LHP/OF Noah Franco (IMG Academy). At 6-foot-3, 185 pounds, Franco’s projection is huge. The Hail State commit is up to 92 from the left side. Sharp slider and feel for the changeup. Elite two-way ability as he is one of the best hitters in the class. Feel for the barrel, creates leverage with power potential. Tremendous upside.

No. 2 in the Florida 2025 class is Gator commit SS Jacob Kendall (Bartram Trail). The lefty bat has one of the top hit tools in the class. Lean, athletic frame at 6-foot-1, 160 pounds. Finds barrels consistently, present juice off the bat with power potential. Kendall put on a show at the 2022 NPI with multiple homers and extra base hits.

At No. 3 is another talented lefty bat in SS Sean Gamble (IMG Academy). Currently uncommitted, Gamble is loose in the box with plenty of bat speed and ability to launch on contact. Like Kendall, Gamble also did a ton of damage at NPI peppering the outfield fences with extra base hits. A smooth and athletic defender at short as well. The top uncommitted ‘25 in the state shouldn’t stay that way for long.

Coming in at No. 4 is OF Dean Moss (IMG Academy). IMG has a ton of talent in the ‘25 class and Moss is certainly one of them. 6-foot, 190 pounds. Tremendous bat speed and power potential from the left side. Moss does damage to baseballs. Consistent barrels and drives the ball with intent. Big offensive upside for the Vandy commit.

Rounding out the top five is OF/LHP Michael Torres (Doral Academy). Torres is an uber athletic two-way at 5-foot-11, 165 pounds. The Canes commit has more room to fill out and that will only increase his ceiling. Athletic defender in center field. Feel to hit with power potential coming. Fastball up to 90 from the left side. More jumps to come as he continues to add strength.

Other Notables + Risers

RHP/SS Carter Smith (Bishop Verot) is one of the top uncommitted arms in the country. Fastball in the upper 80s/low 90s with sink. Clean, athletic arm action with more velo to come as he adds strength. Super athletic profile and also a top QB prospect. Big ceiling.

SS/RHP Manny Lantigua (St. John Paul II) has really made a nice jump physically over the last year. The added strength shows in his overall game. Calm presence in the box with ability to find barrels. Pull side power potential. Lantigua has one of the better gloves in the class at short. Smooth, athletic actions with easy arm strength. Also up to 88 on the mound. Lots of potential for this uncommitted ‘25.

LHP Jackson Hoyt (Nature Coast) is a name on the rise. 6-foot-3, 185 pound southpaw. Fastball in the mid to upper 80s. Tight swing and miss breaking ball. Recent Florida commit should continue to make jumps as he fills out his long lanky frame.

SS Zahir Barjam (Columbus) is another top uncommitted player in this class. 5-foot-10, 170 pounds with physicality. Tons of bat speed with present juice off the bat. Lots of athleticism in the infield with above average hands.

RHP/3B Riley McDonald (Hollins) has made a big jump in 2022. Lean, athletic frame at 6-foot-3, 175 pounds with more room to fill out.  Clean arm with athleticism up to 90 from a tough ¾ arm slot. Creates leverage in the path with quick hands and power potential. Uncommitted two-way represented Team Florida at the 2022 PBR Future Games and shouldn’t be uncommitted for long.
