This Sunday, Oct. 9, the PBR Illinois team is hosting the Class of 2024 Showcase at The MAX complex in McCook, Ill. This event is reserved only for prospects in the 2024 class and will give our staff an ample look at the area's top players.

2022 ROSTER

This event's roster is already shaping up nicely.

RHP Joshua Caccia (St. Charles North) is set to attend Sunday’s event and will be one of the handful of ranked prospects in attendance. Built at a projectable 5-foot-11, 165-pounds, Caccia has ran his fastball up 86 mph and lives in the low-80s. He is also able to spin in a breaking ball in the low-70s with some sweep that we have seen earn swings and misses. Our most recent look at Caccia came at the PBR at The Rock Summer Championships where he was able to tally nine strikeouts in a four-inning start. Despite seeing Caccia in-game recently, we haven’t seen him in a showcase setting in awhile and we are excited to get an up-to-date look at this uncommitted prospect.

Joshua Caccia (7/14/22)

OF Brady Gilroy (Burlington Central) is another ranked member of the ‘24 class who will make it out to The MAX on Sunday. Gilroy stands at an athletic 5-foot-9, 165 pounds and from the right-handed batter's box creates some sneaky pop with a naturally uphill barrel path. While patrolling the outfield, Gilroy uses his speed to easily track down fly-balls and couples it with a strong arm – we've measured him at a sub-7.00 time in the 60-yard dash in the past, too.

Making his PBR showcase debut, RHP/OF Luc Lawler (Benet Academy) is headed to The MAX this Sunday. Lawler is listed at a projectable 6-foot, 175 pounds and he features some smooth, repeatable mechanics. We haven’t seen Lawler since the Illinois Summer Championships and we are excited to get an more in-depth look at this uncommitted junior.

In multiple looks this year, RHP Jack Wilson (New Trier) has caught our attention with a natural feel to pitch. Wilson features a quick delivery and has been up 83 mph with a fastball with late life through the zone. He also features two kinds of BB, a slider and curveball that both play in 68-70 mph range with sharp late action. With both of these pitches, Wilson is able to spot them up in the zone and also bury them for swings and misses.

OF Anthony Xydakis (Morris) owns some loud tools in his compact 5-foot-7, 160-pound frame. He is a 6.80 runner in the 60-yard dash and this athleticism aids him while he is in the outfield as he is able to cover  ground. He pairs this athleticism with above-average arm strength (89 mph) that make him a suitable outfield defender. Offensively, he takes aggressive swings that produces hard line-drive contact from gap-to-gap.

Perusing the event roster, we’re set to meet a majority of players who’ve not yet attended a PBR showcase, and we’re eager to add more names to our follow lists.

CHECK-IN PROCESS

Because of the high number of prospects set to attend Sunday's event, it is imperative that you read our adjusted showcase itinerary below, which will allow our staff to swiftly and efficiently educate and evaluate the players set to attend.

Additionally, in an effort to continue and develop contactless check-in strategies, upon arrival, players will scan a QR Code with their smart phone camera that will lead them to a Google Form. On that Form, players will enter their name (matching the spelling on their PBR profile) and hit submit. Upon submission, players will be prompted to click a link that will direct them to their jersey color and number, located next to their registered name.
