On Tuesday, July 19, the PBR Illinois staff traveled to DuPage Medical Group Field in Joliet, Illinois, to host the Southwest Suburban Open. The event featured more than 40 prospects from around the state and provided our staff an ample look at every player in attendance.

We continue the analysis from the event with a look at all of the position players. We broke down the top-five left-handed hitters and right-handed hitters from the day. A couple of other prospects worth mentioning that just missed out on the list was C Vince McDowell (Montini Catholic, 2023), OF Mick Graham (Salisbury CT, 2024) and 1B Ryan Yurisich (Joliet Catholic, 2025), among others. 

McDowell has a fluid rhythm to all parts of his game with clean actions behind the plate. Graham is a 6.80 runner and launched a ball 361’ feet off the bat while Yurisich is a young, big-bodied bat to follow moving forward. Yurisich was on the barrel throughout his round, with a max exit velocity of 92 mph to go along with a furthest batted ball of 329’.
