Andy Urban
OK/MO/KS Executive Scouting Director

The Sunflower State Rankings have just been updated for each class. With each rankings update, we take an in-depth look at the top three risers. Check out the top risers from each class below.

The 2022 Top Risers
As with every season that goes by, many players take major leaps physically and developmentally. Below are some of the biggest risers since our latest rankings.

Edwin White RHP / 1B / Bishop Miege , KS / 2022

White has been in the mix as a strike thrower with projection for a while now, but it was at the Cavalier Scout Day where that projection started to become reality. He pounded the zone with a fastball that sat 88-90 and mixed a sharp breaking ball as well. White committed to SEMO shortly after the event.

Landon Reith LHP / OF / De Soto, KS / 2022

Reith showed the deception and arm strength that everyone is looking for in his performance at the MOKAN Fall Prospect Game. Into the mid-80s with the fastball form a low-3/4 slot paired with a breaking ball with depth Reith with have the stuff to get outs for Pittsburg State as long as he continue to polish his command as well.

Hunter Henderson C / 1B / Augusta , KS / 2022

Henderson is a strong bodied and durable 6-foot-1, 190-pound backstop with a workers mentality. The right-handed hitter puts throws on the bag in the very low 2s and produces exit velos up to 93 in BP. Henderson showed well all the way around at the KS Fall Prospect Games improving in almost every category and committed to Fort Scott CC shortly after.

The 2023 Top Risers

HARRY TRYBAN
OF / SS / OLATHE EAST, KS / 2023

Tryban takes another jump in the rankings thanks to his measureables increasing again. Tryban now holds the honors of being the fastest player in the state posting a 6.57 and shows plenty of arm strength and barrel strength to make him a dynamic player.

TJ COATS
3B / RHP / BLUE VALLEY SOUTHWEST, KS / 2023

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Coats saw his 60 time drop to 7.19 and BP exit velo jump to 96 at the KS Fall Prospect Games, pushing him up the rankings. Coats also shows the hands, feet and arm strength to stick at 3B at the next level.

SETH DANDRIDGE
OF / LHP / BLUE VALLEY SOUTHWEST , KS / 2023

Dandridge had a fantastic day at the Kansas Fall Prospect Games where he saw all of his numbers better considerably. Dandridge ran a 7.34, threw 86 from the OF, and posed a BP exit velo of 90 mph. Dandridge's clean left-handed swing will continue to play up at the next level.

The 2024 Top Risers

Keaton Vogelsberg 3B / RHP / Blue Valley Northwest, KS / 2024

The 5-foot-11, 175-pound corner infielder saw his infield velo and BP exit velo make a big jump at the KS Fall Prospect Games. Vogelsberg shows the defense to be able to stay at third and pop to be an impact bat in the middle of an order.

Carter Beach 2B / OF / Blue Valley Northwest, KS / 2024

At 5-foot-10, 130-pounds Beach is already showing wiry strength that promises projection. Beach is an advanced defender in the infield with plenty of arm strength and flashes some pop in BP with a flat an middle of the field approach. Beach had a strong showing at the KS Fall Prospect Games.

Carson Wasinger 1B / 3B / Blue Valley North, KS / 2024

Another young prospect who showed very well at the KS Fall Prospect Games is 1B Wassinger. The right-handed hitter showed exit velos as high as 94 mph in his round of BP showing added strength. Wasinger also moves well for a big guy posing a 7.07 60.
