Here we go! Kansas' Class of 2025 is already showing signs of having notable prospects on the national level. Through local tournaments and events, national tournaments at Grand Park, Creekside, and Lakepoint, and the Junior Future Games, we have been able to collect info on hundreds of Kansas Freshman baseball players this year. As usual, we have trimmed down the list of players we have seen and have info on to the top 75 for this initial rankings. We will aggressively adjust and expand this list as we get more looks and more data on the 2025 players in the state. If you haven't checked out our rankings process, you can read more about it, here. Below is an in-depth look at the top 10 prospects in the initial rankings followed by a link to the complete 75 player list.

The Top 10

Deacon Pomeroy C / 3B / Shawnee Heights, KS / 2025

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Pomeroy is as physical as they come. The right-handed hitter left the yard multiple times in his round of BP at the Kansas Fall Underclass Games, posting a top exit velo of 97 mph. Defensively, Pomeroy produces sub 2.0 showcase pop times with all of his throws landing on the bag. Premium strength at a premium position will like garner Pomeroy national attention very soon.

Grady Westphal SS / RHP / Blue Valley, KS / 2025

A 6-foot-2, 165-pound frame packed with athleticism, Westphal has arguably the highest celling in the class. On the mound, the right-hander fills up the strike zone featuring a fastball up to 86 mph. Defensively, Westphal has a real chance to stick at SS at the next level with his smooth actions, soft hands, and big arm. At the dish the right-handed hitter shows a simple and connected swing with bat speed that will continue to play.

Colton Sims 3B / SS / Shawnee Mission East, KS / 2025

At 6-foot-2, 180-pounds and plenty of athleticism, Sims is another high-celling prospect on the list. Sims runs a sub 7.0 60, posts a 90 mph exit velo, is 84 mph across the diamond. Offensively, Sims shows the makings of a middle of the order bat that will be able to provide some juice, while defensively he profiles as an agile 3B with a big arm.

Cru Huenfeld 1B / LHP / St. Thomas Aquinas, KS / 2025

A broad shouldered and physically advanced 6-foot-2, 210-pound frame, Huenfeld shows elite strength for his age. The left-handed hitter put on a show in BP at the Junior Future Games with 94 mph exit velos. Huenfeld moves well for his size, especially around the bag at first and shows off his athleticism on the mound as well, throwing strikes in the low 80s from the left-side.

Micah McGavran C / 3B / Olathe West , KS / 2025

McGavran is a physically impressive and strong 6-foot-2, 200-pound catcher. The right-handed hitter flashes big juice showing a 93 mph exit velo. Behind the dish McGavran shows a strong arm at 74 mph and near 2.0 pop times. Not a typical slow footed catcher, runs a near 7.0 60.

At 6-foot-1, 190-pounds, Schaefer is a two-way prospect that shines brightest with the bat. Offensively, the left-handed hitter shows even more pop than his 86 mph exit velo would suggest. Schaefer also moves well around the bag showing advanced defense at first base.

Camden Morris C / RHP / Blue Valley, KS / 2025

Morris is a long and projectable 6-foot-1, 175-pound two-way prospect. The right-hander pounds the zone with a mid 70s fastball and shows leverage in his swing from the right-side.
