On Saturday, January 14th, the PBR Louisiana Staff traveled to Zachary High School to host the Baton Rouge Preseason ID. The event featured more than 40 prospects of all HS classes from around the state and provided our staff an ample look at every player in attendance.

We continue the analysis from the event with a look at all of the pitchers. We broke down the top-five pitchers on the day followed by the rest of the pitchers in attendance.

TOP pitchers

1. Cade Durbin, Parkview Baptist, 2025
Positional Profile: RHP/SS
Body: 5-11, 142-pounds. Athletic and lean
Delivery: Starts in middle of rubber and stays there, brings hands down and back up before a slight pause at top of leg lift, finishes on-line
Arm Action: RH. Loose and quick arm, gets on top and behind the baseball well
FB: T81, 81-81 mph. FB stayed down in the zone, commanded to both sides of the plate T2193, 2175 average rpm.
CB: 69-72 mph. Elite level spin, CB had sharp bite down in the zone with "11-5" shape, can land for strikes or swing and miss T2783, 2711 average rpm.
CH: 75-76 mph. Good late fade, can land to both sides of the plate T1977, 1973 average rpm.
CUT: 78-79 mph. Short lateral break.

2. Cole Connor, UHigh, 2024
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 6-1, 175-pounds. Projectable, long, athletic
Delivery: Starts in middle of rubber and stays there, quicker and deliberate delivery, repeats mechanics well, moves aggressively down the slope
Arm Action: RH. Long and loose arm action, releases from a 3/4 to high 3/4 slot
FB: T87, 84-86 mph. FB had good sink down in the zone with arm-side run T2095, 1998 average rpm.
CB: 73-76 mph. "11-5" shape with sharp, late break down in the zone T2107, 2017 average rpm.
CH: 80-80 mph. Stays true through the zone with some fade, plays off 2S FB well T1572, 1489 average rpm.

3. Cameron Patterson, Central, 2024
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 6-0, 175-pounds. Athletic with physical lower-half
Delivery: Starts on 1B side of rubber and stays there throughout a repeatable delivery, rocks back onto back side at leg lift and tilts shoulders up, aggressive mover down the slope
Arm Action: RH. Long arm action, high 3/4 release
FB: T86, 85-86 mph. Good life and downward tilt T2170, 2134 average rpm.
CB: 70-72 mph. "12-6" shape with late bite down in teh zone T2270, 2224 average rpm.

4. Bryce Wilson, Chalmette, 2025
Positional Profile: LHP/1B
Body: 6-0, 150-pounds. Athletic
Delivery: Starts on 3B side of rubber and stays there throughout a simple and repeatable delivery with minimal effort
Arm Action: LH. Brings ball down and back up in an average arm circle, releases from a 3/4 slot
FB: T83, 82-83 mph. Commanded to the arm side, down in the zone with some run T2374, 2306 average rpm.
CB: 69-71 mph. "2-8" shape with good lateral break and some depth T2137, 1992 average rpm.
SL: 71-71 mph. Short and tight lateral break with some depth T2101, 2062 average rpm.
CH: 74-76 mph. Good fade with some arm-side sink T1701, 1631 average rpm.

5. Samuel Mitchell, Parkview Baptist, 2025
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 6-1, 160-pounds. Tall and lean
Delivery: Starts in middle of rubber and stays there throughout a quicker and deliberate delivery, brings ball straight back, finishes on-line
Arm Action: RH. Long and loose arm action with some whip
FB: T83, 81-83 mph. Some sink and arm side run T2310, 2227 average rpm.
SL: 72-73 mph. Short and tight lateral break with some depth T2177, 2121 average rpm.
CH: 77-78 mph. Firm with arm side run and a little fade T1931, 1839 average rpm.

Jacob Belcher, Jena, 2025
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 6-1, 190-pounds. Physical
Delivery: Starts in middle of rubber and stays there, brings hands above head and back down with a high, swinging leg lift, finishes off to 1B side
Arm Action: RH. Brings ball straight back and up, average arm circle, releases from a 3/4 slot
FB: T81, 80-81 mph. Stays true with some life T2018, 2011 average rpm.
CB: 63-64 mph. Tight, some lateral break with depth T2159, 2126 average rpm.
SL: 68-68 mph. Short lateral break with some depth T2226, 2166 average rpm.

Benjamin Blake, Woodlawn, 2024
Positional Profile: C/1B
Body: 5-10, 155-pounds. Athletic and lean
Hits: RHH. Balanced, upright stance Works down through contact with uphill extension and a two-handed finish
Power: 65 max exit velocity, averaged 60.5 MPH. 198' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-73 mph. Short arm action
Defense: 2.25-2.33 pop times. Starts higher in his crouch, average receiver with clean transfer on throw downs to the bag.
Run: 8.38 runner in the 60.

Jacob Belcher, Jena, 2025
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 6-1, 190-pounds. Physical
Hits: RHH. Slightly wide stance, quiet hands held at shoulder height Simple load and stride, flat to contact with a level two-handed finish, works mostly to pull-side.
Power: 91 max exit velocity, averaged 83.3 MPH. 253' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-78 mph.Average arm circle, 3/4-low 3/4 release
Defense: Fielded the ball clean, average actions and footwork
Run: 7.46 runner in the 60.

Benjamin Blake, Woodlawn, 2024
Positional Profile: RHP/2B
Body: 5-10, 142-pounds. Athletic
Hits: RHH. Balanced, upright stance, taps bat on shoulder, rocks back with a toe-tap load Flat path with a two-handed level finish, works mostly middle to pull-side
Power: 81 max exit velocity, averaged 76.6 MPH. 279' max distance.
Arm: RH. Longer arm action, high 3/4 release
Defense: Approached the ball head on, average actions and footwork
Run: 7.91 runner in the 60.

Hayes Segar, Catholic, 2026
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 5-9, 160-pounds. Athletic
Delivery: Starts on 3B side of rubber and stays there throughout a quick and repeatabel delivery, tilts shoulders upon leg lift, creates good downard tilt
Arm Action: RH. Brings ball down and back up into a shorter arm action, release from a high 3/4 slot
FB: T75, 74-75 mph. Stayed down in zone wiht some sink and arm side run T1921, 1878 average rpm.
CB: 60-62 mph. Big with "12-6" shape and a lot of depth T2169, 2127 average rpm.
SL: 63-65 mph. Short lateral break T2107, 2064 average rpm.
CH: 71-72 mph. Some sink and arm side fade T1328, 1283 average rpm.

Aubrey St. Angelo, Brusly, 2026
Positional Profile: 2B/RHP
Body: 6-0, 160-pounds. Athletic with long limbs
Delivery: Starts on 1B side of rubber and stays there throughout a quick and repeatable delivery, finishes on-line to his target
Arm Action: RH. Short and quick arm action, releases from a 3/4 to high 3/4 slot
FB: T79, 77-79 mph. Gets on top of the ball well, showed some sink at times T1926, 1844 average rpm.
CB: 67-69 mph. Short and tight "11-5" shape T1945, 1865 average rpm.
SL: 69-69 mph. Short lateral break with some depth when on top T2020, 1942 average rpm.

Hayden Villar, St. Amant, 2025
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 6-0, 176-pounds. Athletic
Delivery: Starts on 1B side of rubber and slides to the middle, rocks back some during high leg lift, finishes square to target
Arm Action: RH. Short arm action, brings ball straight up out of glove and releases from a high 3/4 slot
FB: T77, 75-76 mph. Some arm-side run with a little sink T1998, 1915 average rpm.
CB: 63-65 mph. "11-5" shape with average break and depth T2143, 2130 average rpm.
CH: 67-67 mph. Good arm-side sink and run T1784, 1644 average rpm.

Caleb Weber, Plaquermine, 2024
Positional Profile: RHP/SS
Body: 5-10, 180-pounds. Physical
Delivery: Starts in middle of rubber and stays there, controlled delivery, turns slightly inward during leg lift, finishes square to target
Arm Action: RH. Takes ball out of glove down and back with a slight stab, releases from a high 3/4 slot
FB: T79, 78-79 mph. Arm-side run T2054, 1952 average rpm.
CB: 68-69 mph. "10-4" in shape with average break and depth T1852, 1717 average rpm.
SL: 67-69 mph. Sweeping lateral break T1865, 1790 average rpm.
