2018 Eastern PA Top Prospect Games: Day One Highlights

Sal BiondolloThe 2018 Eastern PA Top Prospect Games opened play yesterday with 60 players taking part in showcase activities and a pair of nine inning games. Two more games are on the schedule for today with start times of 10:00am and 2:00pm..

Following are ten players that shined on day one.

+ 2019 RHP Sal Biondollo (Annville-Cleona) sat 83-85 with solid command of an 11/5 curveball at 70-72 and a changeup at 75-77 during three innings of work for the Red Team. Showed up tempo delivery with ability to wok both sides of the plate. 

+ 2020 RHP Cam Burris (St. Joseph's Catholic) sat 83-85 with some arm-side run to his fastball with just an infield hit allowed over three innings of work. Mixed in a 11/5 breaking curveball at 74-76 and a changeup with good arm speed at 75-77 while registering four strikeouts.

+ 2019 RHP Matt Henderson (Daniel Boone) showed a live fastball at 85-86, touching 87 and a sharp slider with later break at 75-77. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound righty also showcased a changeup at 75-76 with good sell and a 11/5 breaking curveball at 72-73.

+ 2021 OF Dylan DuCharme (Spring-Ford) went 3-for-3 in game action after taking one of the top rounds of batting practice on the day. The left-handed hitter showed the ability to barrel balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity of 85 mph.

+ 2020 SS Rowan Teran (Harriton) won't be able to participate on day two of the event, but he made day one count. The 5-foot-8, 160-pound right-handed hitter took an impressive round of batting practice and followed it up with three barrels in game action including a triple in his final at bat. He also made the play of the day going to his backhand side, laying out, and throwing across the diamond from his knees for the out.

+ 2019 SS Mark McNelly (Spring-Ford) took one of the louder rounds of batting practice showcasing a bat exit velocity of 89 mph. The New Mexico State commit also blistered a single to center field that was one of the hardest hit balls of the day.

+ 2019 RHP/OF Nico Felber (Muhlenberg) worked an effective three innings on the mound, but stood out offensively with a pair of doubles in game action.

+ 2020 2B/OF Khaleil Blanding (Muhlenberg) impressed in his round of batting practice and went 3-for-4 with a triple in game action. The 5-foot-9, 175-pounder also made a diving backhand play at second base and threw the runner out from his knees. 

+ 2020 switch-hitting 1B/LHP Christian Quinn (Harriton) impressed from both sides of the plate in BP and went 3-for-3 with a triple in game action, including hits from both sides of the plate.

+ 2020 OF Nathan Turner (Dover, DE) took a solid round of BP, barreled three balls in game action including a double in his first at bat, and gunned down two base runners at the plate in game action.
