2026 Rankings Spotlight: RHP/OF Pierce Quinn
October 2, 2023
Prep Baseball Report has officially updated their class rankings over the span of three weeks, updating the Class of 2024, 2025 and 2026 in their respective states. Our staff will now conduct a deep dive into the rankings and highlight key uncommitted players in each class.
Today, we take a look into the MD/DE Class of 2026 and dive into one of the more explosive and projectable athletes in the class, two-way Pierce Quinn out of John Carroll High School. It's easy to be excited about the size, standing at a long, strong 6-foot-1, 170 pounds with still plenty of room to fill out and add mass. The arm on the bump may be the most intriguing and possibly holds the highest ceiling, showcasing the ability to work a three pitch mix with high spin on the fastball and curveball. It's a mid 80's fastball right now with plenty left in the tank, working to both sides, spinning into the high 2300's and changing eye levels in the zone. The curveball is tight and sharp, spinning in the high 2700's with the ability to create whiffs in and out of the zone, while also featuring a late fading changeup that is still developing. As feel for the zone and strike percentage increases, look for this to be one of the more dominating arms for years to come in the class. Offensively, the hands are explosive with somer whip in the barrel, utilizing a slightly uphill path through that produces hard line drives to all fields. The middle of the field approach certainly sticks out, staying consistent with feel for the barrel that continues to increase. Easy to love the makeup here.
