With seemingly everyone's seasons starting on different dates this spring due to Covid-19, we have decided to create two separate rankings this year based on Public and Private schools. All Maryland Private schools will be considered in this year's weekly PBR Maryland Private Schools Top 10 rankings while only Public schools will be considered in our traditional PBR Maryland Public Schools Power 25. An update to these rankings will continue to be released every Monday throughout the season.

Week 1 Update: The 2021 season is officially underway and with a full week of games in the rear-view mirror, today we release our first update to our PBR Maryland Private Schools Top 10. With Georgetown Prep (IAC), Bishop McNamara (WCAC) Good Counsel (WCAC), and DeMatha Catholic (WCAC) having yet to begin their seasons, we hold their spots as is from our initial Preseason Top 10 rankings. The first shakeup comes towards the top with Archbishop Spalding taking over the No. 2 spot after shutting out previously ranked No. 2 Calvert Hall at home 5-0 on Tuesday to open the season. The Cardinals bounced back on Saturday with a win over McDonogh and flip spots with the Cavs for the time being. Archbishop Curley and John Carroll both opened Conference play with two big wins and remain unbeaten on the young season moving up two spots each to No. 5 and No. 7 respectively. Loyola-Blakefield dropped a pair of Conference games this past week but to two teams within our Top 10. They remain in the rankings at No. 9 as they look to get on track in Week 2. And finally rounding out our Top 10 once again is Gilman after finishing the week 1-1 in conference.
