2021 MHSAA Tournament: Division 3 State Semifinal - University Liggett vs Buchanan

EAST LANSING - A long day of baseball ends with the quickest game of the day as uncommitted 2022 righty Kurt Barr out-duels Buchanan uncommitted 2022 Matt Hoover.

HOT TAKES

PLAYER OF THE GAME: Junior Kurt Barr was dominant from start to finish, earning him the player of the game honor.

FINISHING STRONG: Kurt Barr sat down the final 10 batters in a row, including striking out the side in the 7th inning to help his team advance to the state finals.

ON BASE ALL DAY: 2023 Standout Jarren Purify started the game off with a walk, scored the first run. In his other two at bats, the Michigan commit reached first base on another walk and a sharply hit single.

TOUGH LUCK LOSS: Uncommitted 2022 Matthew Hoover took the tough luck loss on the mound, but finished off the game throwing 6 straight scoreless innings, with the fastball getting up to 90 mph.
