Updated Class of 2025 Player Rankings (August)
Thanks to a great spring and summer season, we had the opportunity to see numerous prospects and are updating each of our class rankings based off what we have seen.
Many names came off the board to some of the top programs around the nation, many new names came to the forefront of the recruiting scene, and many prospects improved their game.
That being said, we have had the pleasure of seeing a number of solid players this past year. Prospects are popping up left and right, making velocity jumps, improving 60-yard dash times and showing more power with the bat.
As the school year starts and with fall ball right around the corner, we will take a look at "The Risers", "The Sleepers", "Showcase Standouts", and some of the top uncommitted prospects by position.

The Risers
Keagen Kohlhoff RHP / OF / IMG Academy, MI / 2025Rankings StateRank: 5 / POS: 4

Slade Moore LHP / OF / West Bloomfield, MI / 2025Rankings StateRank: 6 / POS: 2
Report: Southpaw lefty Moore jumps into the Top 10 in Michigan after a solid HS season and strong summer season. Projectable frame with a live arm that was consistent 87-89 with a slider in his arsenal. Late run to the fastball. Showed the changeup for strikes as he participated down at LakePoint for the Future Games. |
Case Bosch LHP / 1B / Jenison, MI / 2025Rankings StateRank: 8 / POS: 3
Report: Bosch moves up into the Top 10 after a very strong season for Jenison leading the team in nearly every major pitching category. Bosch comes in with a towering frame at 6’5 200 with ability to throw three pitches for strikes (FB, CB, CH). Shows a calm demeanor on the mound with more room to gain velocity as he matures into his body. Fastball will sit 86-87 and has shown he can get in on the hands to right handed hitters. |
Uli Fernsler LHP / 1B / Novi, MI / 2025Rankings StateRank: 12 / POS: 4
Report: Uli really came on strong at the end of HS season helping lead Novi to a state championship. He played a critical role in coming out of the bullpen in the middle of their run while starting the final game for the Wildcats. A mid 80s lefty with a strong build and wide shoulders is complemented with a 3 pitch mix and consistency. His best innings are ahead of him as he continues to climb the ladder in the 2025 class. |
The Sleepers
Chad Brown RHP / 3B / Hemlock, MI / 2025Rankings StateRank: 19 / POS: 8
Report: 3 sport athlete for the Huskies continues to make a name for himself. An intriguing 6’6 frame with room to develop on the mound has garnered interest by schools. Coming off a solid spring for Hemlock, Chad carried that into the summer consistently sitting 86-87 with the fastball touching 89 a handful of times. Keep an eye on Brown as there is plenty left in the tank for the rising Junior. |
Julian Contreras SS / 3B / Western International, MI / 2025Rankings StateRank: 37 / POS: 7
Report: Contreras was a staple in the Cowboys lineup this spring for Juan Sanchez. Julian made a strong impression off a good performance at Top Prospect Games showcasing his linedrive approach from both sides of the plate and ability to make consistent plays in the middle of the field with smooth footwork through the ball. |
Chance Sobbry 1B / 3B / Dexter, MI / 2025Rankings StateRank: 54 / POS: 4

Showcase Standouts
Brendan Thompson SS / 2B / Forest Hills Eastern, MI / 2025Rankings StateRank: 11 / POS: 2
Report: Thompson proved to be one of the top SS in the state with strong showing at Future Games. Clean feet and glove from the left side that produces good carry on the ball coming out of the hand. Brendan had a standout state tournament run highlighted by a play in the state semi final at McLane Stadium. His stock will continue to increase as he will add strength at the plate while the defensive tool is what makes him really standout. |
Cash Van Ameyde OF / LHP / Brother Rice, MI / 2025Rankings StateRank: 14 / POS: 1
Report: Van Ameyde has shown good consistency from spring to summer with a good feel to play the game. 6.8 runner manning centerfield with good jumps on the ball each time our staff has seen him live. Sawyer Cooney SS / RHP / Bloomfield Hills, MI / 2025Rankings StateRank: 16 / POS: 3
Report: Cooney has gotten better each time we’ve seen him. A live ¾ arm with tight, compact delivery down the mound. Was a part of a standout 1-2 punch for Bloomfield Hills this spring and certainly carried over into the summer after a number of strong starts.
