St. Louis Open Recap

The St. Louis Open was held October 24th at the Sports Barn in Wentzville, Missouri. We take a look at the top statistical performers started off by Ben Brittle (Cartville, IL) who turned in the events lowest 60 time with a 6.97. Aiden Cizek (Lafayette, MO) showed off the biggest positional player arm throwing 85 mph across the infield and also 77 mph from behind the plate, Reed Drabant (Columbia, IL) had the strongest arm from the outfield at 84 mph. Catcher Carter Allen (Francis Howell, MO) posted the quickest pop time with a 1.95 pop. During BP Brooks Neuhoff (Morton, IL) put up some impressive exit velocities topping out at 94 mph. On the mound 2023 Ben Smith posted the events top velocity at 88 mph. Below we highlight some of the standout performers as well as a complete list of the stats from the event.

 


JAKE SCHISLER / OF / RHP / QUINCY NOTRE DAME, IL / 2023

A steady performer, displayed soft hand and good infield actions during the defensive portion of the event. At the plate Schisler showed a quick bat and worked mostly left centerfield to center field with consistent loud contact, topping out with a 91 mph exit velocity.

BEN SMITH / RHP / 3B / SPRINGFIELD CATHOLIC , MO / 2023

The events top arm and one of the states top pitchers in the 2023 class showed a strong arm and a good feel for his secondary offerings.

BRADY KINDHART / 3B / QUINCY NOTRE DAME, IL / 2023

Perhaps the top 2-way talent at the event. Kindhart took one of the more consistent BP round with a strong swing and pull side power. On the mound he showed one of the top breaking balls. A projectable talent that will be one to know moving forward.

AIDEN CIZEK SS / C / LAFAYETTE, MO / 2023

Was one of the top performers at the St. Louis Open registering the highest infield throwing velocity at 85 mph and the top catching throwing velocity at 77 mph to go with a 1.99-2.05 pop time. The left handed bat showed a good line drive approach at the plate spraying line drives gap to gap and ran a 7.07 60 time.
