The 2023 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Mississippi.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Pearl, MS at Trustmark Park as they compete for a state championship, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Mississippi. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing other pieces of content covering the Magnolia State.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our players of the week, updating the Top 10 in each MHSAA classification as well as a Power 25.

Team Outlook:

The Senatobia Warriors return 1 positional starter and 1 pitcher from a team that finished 15-9 a year ago, though with a solid team dynamic along with overall team speed Head Coach Kyle Russell expects his bunch to compete none the less! 

Key returners for the Warriors will be senior Elijah Moore (INF/OF/RHP) and junior Braxton Daniel (2B/RHP). 

Other players Coach Russell will be counting on to step up this spring include seniors Hastings Norris (C/OF/RHP) and Owen Gayden (OF/P) along with juniors Jake Hudspeth (1B/RHP) and Javarri Miller (OF/LHP), and finally sophomore Tyler Mabry (UTL). 

Senatobia also has a trio of freshmen on the way that will give the Warriors a boost over the foreseeable future. Those players are Camryn Hankins (1B/RHP), Brayden Coleman (1B/OF/LHP), and Evans Sealy (SS/RHP).

Even with a lack of experience on the roster Russell clearly expects his Warriors to be at the top of District 3 at season's end with chance to improve on last year’s first round appearance in the 4A state playoffs.
