WHAT TO WATCH FOR:
Expectations for Team - The Cardinals return several talented players in 2023 and will add in some young guys that should help them improve up their 14 win season a year ago and conference tournament championship. They will play a tough schedule early that should prepare them to be ready come playoff time.
Expected Team Strength - We are looking forward to improving upon our season from last year, where we were knocked out in the 1st round of the NCHSAA 1A playoffs. We should be better defensively from last year's squad with the arrival of several newcomers to mesh with our starters. We have filled a gap in the outfield and then we also will have several new pitchers to add to our mix, that will contribute right away to our squad. We do have a strong schedule lined up which could impact us early. We open with South Stokes on 2/28 before playing 4A Ragsdale, Mt. Tabor, 2A Bartlett Yancey, 1A Clover Garden and 1A Chatham Charter, before we ever reach the our conference
