WHAT TO WATCH FOR:
Expectations for Team - The Cougars return much of their pitching staff from last season's State Championship team. Their lineup will have plenty of athleticism and tough outs. If they stay healthy High Point Christian could repeat in 2023.
Expected Team Strength - The pitching staff is experienced and talented. HPCA returns 90% of its innings pitched in 2022. Team defense should be also excellent with speed in the outfield that can cover the gaps. The offense will be a work in progress early but it could ultimately be better later in the season.
QUOTE FROM THE COACH:
This years team is a hardworking group of players. We have great team chemistry and depth at every position. We have to replace our All State Catcher and our shortstop from last year. We have some playes who have grown and gotten stronger and I am excited about seeing them perform this spring. If we can stay healthy, I believe we can make a run in the state playoffs.
