WHAT TO WATCH FOR:
Expectations for Team - Then Panthers return their three top arms from last season led by ace Anderson Nance. Nance will also lead the way on offense for a team that returns several all conference performers from a year ago. They once again be a threat on the basepaths and should be sound defensively. Morehead should once again be a force in Mid-State 2A and has the potential to make a deep run in the 2A playoffs.
Expected Team Strength - Pitching, defense and athleticism on the base paths will be what we hang our hat out this year. We return 3 of our top arms from last year in Anderson Nance, Lucas Brooks and Seth Sharpe. Those 3 posted a combined 100.2 IP, 157 K's, 2.25 ERA, and a 12-2 record last season. We return 7 defensive starters this year form a team that posted a .942 FLD% last year. Last year we stole 81 bases, and we return 9 guys from last years team that accounted for 57 of those SB's.

I am excited to see this team pick up where we left off last season. Last years team set the foundation for the culture we are building here at Morehead and I believe this years team has the potential to be special, but it will come down to leadership in the locker room and not being complacent. The goals and expectations are set for this years team and with the group I have I believe we have a chance to have a really good baseball team that is more than capable of achieving those goals.
