WHAT TO WATCH FOR:
Expectations for Team - The defending 1A State Champs will look quite different in 2023. Trenton Sawyer is the lone returner in the lineup that will look to build on the successes of the past two Pirate Clubs. While they may be young and inexperienced, don't be surprised if you see Perquimans deep in the 1A playoffs once again.
Expected Team Strength - My team strengths for 2021 are way different that my team strengths for 2023. I feel confident in our pitching staff and feel confident we will play solid defense behind that pitching. We graduated 10 players from last years State Championship team. Some guys will have to step up in a big way at the plate. We will have to be great in situational baseball and find ways to score.
QUOTE FROM THE COACH:
Our quote that we use every years is that TRADITION doesn't graduate. What that means is that we the expectation of the program doesn't change based on who graduated the year before. The standard has been set and we must work to be at that standard.
