WHAT TO WATCH FOR:
Expectations for Team - The Rockets will rely on the depth of their pitching staff this season. They have a talented backstop in Tyler White who will handle the pitching staff and also provide thump in the middle of the order. The Rockets have a lot to be excited about in 2023 as they look to compete in the Central Carolinas 3A Conference.
Expected Team Strength - The strength for the Rockets this season will be in their pitching staff. Returning 7 pitchers from last year's conference tournament winners, the staff also adds a few arms moving up from the JV level. Staying healthy will be key as the depth will provide options to choose matchups. The lineup will be led by multi-year starters on varsity and will be expected to set the tone each game.
QUOTE FROM THE COACH:
Last year, we were off to a slow start but turned it around halfway through the season to finish strong. We capped off the year with a conference tournament championship and the first playoff appearance in 9 years. I am excited to see the guys respond after a successful summer and fall. They will need to continue to bring the intensity and energy each game and that could lead to a successful season for the Rockets.
