The 2023 High School season is quickly approaching and as usual, our staff is excited for the upcoming Spring season. Players and coaches have been working all fall and through December, in preparation for the upcoming season and as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams throughout Nevada.
Programs across the state have goals and aspirations to finish the year lifting then State Champion trophy, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes a reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams and players across the state, as we preview many of the great programs from Nevada. We will take you right up to the first pitch of this season with these team previews and we'll continue providing coverage throughout the Spring.

PBR Nevada Director, Brett Harrison
The Cougars are set up for a big 2023 Season under 2nd year Head Coach, Garrett Smith, who had a gritty Coronado squad that should catch their stride this year with a younger group that is expected to put up a serious fight every time they step on the field. With a rich 2022 Senior Class, this year's group will rely on a strong Underclass group to carry the weight both on the mound and at the plate with Team Nevada representative at the 2022 Future Games, Evan Festa, projected to be a staple at the top the Cougar lineup and a top arm on the mound as well. Uncommitted 2024 two-way, Brigham Bleazard, similar to Festa, will be a players we expect to contribute significantly in his Junior campaign for the Cougars. The three committed Seniors, AJ Victoravich (Umpqua CC), Kaiden Hernandez (Clark College) and Ty Phillips (Dominican University), will set the tone for this group and be depended on to come up with the big hit or close out a close game. The future is bright for this Coronado program who is rich with young talent that we will get our initial look at during today's Coronado Scout Day. Expect the Cougars to stealthy make some noise this season and don't be surprised if they come out on top against some of the the state's other top programs.
