Game of the Day Preview: Charles W. Baker HS vs. Henninger HS

Dan Cevette
New York Scouting Director

Tonight's matchup between Charles W. Baker HS and Henninger HS should be one of the best pitching matchups in the whole state of New York.

Charles W. Baker's Scott Blewett will square off against Henninger's Jeff Belge Wednesday night in East Syracuse. Both standout pitchers are St. John's recruits.

Blewett (CWB), is arguably one of the top high school prospects in this year's draft class. He stands at 6-foot-6, 220 pounds, but it’s a lean frame and well proportioned. He has an easy, athletic delivery that is simple for someone of his size. His fastball ranges 89-91 mph with more in tank, and he mixes in a very good curveball at 76-78 with good bite and depth. He also shows quick footwork on the mound.

Belge (Henninger) is only a sophomore but has some serious upside. Belge stands at 6-foot-5, 215 pounds, and reports have his fastball sitting 80-84 mph with some saying they've seen a little higher.
