Q & A with Arlington HS C Drew Lugbauer

Name: Drew Lugbauer
High School: Arlington HS
College Commitment: Michigan
Position: Catcher

PBR New York sat down with Arlington HS star C Drew Lugbauer for a question and answer session.

PBR: Tell me about your preparation for the 2014 season.

Lugbauer: In preparing for the 2014 season, I have been in the gym every day, hitting and training while staying as healthy as I can.

PBR: Tell us about the MLB draft process.

Lugbauer: The draft process has been fun! It’s an experience not many people get to be in and I have been enjoying every moment of it. It has been going relatively quick though.

PBR: Tell us about your strengths and weaknesses as a player.

Lugbauer: My biggest strength is my power and my strength. I need to work on my flexibility and agility and also consistently putting the bat on the ball and driving it the other way.

PBR: You said you are training hard for the 2014 season, can you explain?

Lugauer: The training I do is baseball specific. My trainer at North Star Sports gives me a bunch of baseball specific workouts which are improving my flexibility and agility while building upon my strength.

PBR: Tell us a fun fact about yourself.

Lugbauer: I am a very smart kid. I was inducted into the National Honor Society this year. I love to do math because I like having to do work to get an answer. It’s kind of like solving a puzzle.
