Updated Class of 2025 Player Rankings (May)

As spring baseball continues and we get closer to summer ball, we had the opportunity to see hundreds of prospects throughout the fall/spring and have updated our class rankings.

Many names came off the board to some of the top programs around the nation, many new names came to the forefront of the recruiting scene, and many prospects improved their game.

That being said, we have had the pleasure of seeing a number of solid players this past year. Prospects are popping up left and right, making velocity jumps, improving 60-yard dash times and showing more power with the bat.

Below we will take a look at "Risers", "Southpaws", "Tool'd Up”, and the Top Uncommitted Prospects by position.

Risers

Noah Kubasky LHP / 1B / Lake, OH / 2025

Report: One of the biggest stock risers of this winter is Lake HS’s Noah Kubasky. Kubasky was electric in two bullpens this winter and followed it up with a quality start we were in attendance for. Prototype starter frame at 6-foot-3, 215-pounds and put together. Heater will get up to 89mph, sitting in that 85-88 mph range and he has shown aptitude for spin. Excited to see him compete at Top Prospect Games.

Ryan Sudbrook SS / 2B / Avon, OH / 2025

Report: One of our picks to click in 2023 is Ryan Subrook (Avon HS). Sudbrook has always been a fluid mover who has a knack for making plays / finding barrels and now the tools are really starting to come. Now the word explosive can be used to describe his skill set and he still has more jumps to be made. Doesn’t take much of an imagination to see a high-level defender w/run producer upside at the D1 level.

Daniel Briggs SS / 2B / Dublin Coffman, OH / 2025

Report: Very similar to what we just said about Sudbrook, Dublin Coffman’s Daniel Briggs is a guy who has taken big physical jumps to add to his already impressive game play. Smooth defender w/feel for his feet and quality hands. Swing plays and he’s found barrels consistently when we’ve been in attendance. Now he’s running in the 6.7s, showing mid 80s arm strength across the infield and 90+jump off the barrel.

Kahlil Ligon RHP / 1B / Defiance, OH / 2025

Report: 6-4, 190-pound lanky/projectable righty. Next up in the line of Defiance arms.

Southpaws

Don’t get me wrong there are plenty of talented RHPs in this class but when analyzing the mound prospects in this group what stands out to us is the quality of uncommitted, lefty hurlers. We already hit on Kubasky here’s several others who made their way into the top 100:

Charlie Hoagland LHP / OF / Chaminade Julienne, OH / 2025

Report: 6-foot-1, athletic frame / room to add. Low 80s juice right now with much more to come. The separator for him is one of, if not the top breaking ball in the state regardless of class.

Joey Buchanan LHP / 1B / Milford, OH / 2025

Report: 6-foot, quality athlete w/a heater we’ve seen up to 85mph. Secondary is also +avg across the board. Also shows promise as a position prospect / legit 2-way candidate.

Andrew Montero LHP / OF / Upper Arlington, OH / 2025

Report: Arguably the top “pop up” prospect of the winter. 6-foot-1, quick-armed lefty that ran it up to 88 mph while bending in an +avg CB in the low 70s and a more than serviceable CH.

Hayden Frey LHP / 1B / Troy, OH / 2025

Report: Video jumps off the screen when it comes to athletic traits in his delivery. Smoother mover, loose/explosive arm, and a 6-foot-2 frame that will support significant strength additions. An arm to buy stock in early as there’s potential for major jumps here. Sub 1.0 ERA w/17ks in 12IP to start the spring.

Carter Sellers LHP / 1B / Little Miami, OH / 2025

Report: As much upside as anyone on this list. 6-foot-4, arm really works / loose athletic delivery. As he continues to grow into his frame expect that 84mph fastball to gradually tick up throughout his high school career.

Brody Papay LHP / 1B / Avon, OH / 2025

Report: Another high upside southpaw in this class. 6-foot-4, physical presence on the mound. Low 80s heater currently but doesn’t take much of an imagination to see him adding there and ball comes out super easy.

Tommy Farkas LHP / 1B / Strongsville, OH / 2025

Report: Another physical southpaw in this class, standing 6-foot-3, 205-pounds. Compact, fast arm with the entire arsenal coming out of a similar tunnel. Ran it up to 85 mph this winter.

Tool’d Up

When looking at the uncommitted position players in this class we have several players with high-level NCTs (Non Coachable Traits). This basically means their path to having elite tools are shorter than most because of their athletic / physical traits. Let’s breakdown a few of them:

Zebulin Kinsey OF / RHP / Toronto, OH / 2025

Report: Few can offer the combination of size/athleticism offered here. 6-foot-3, 215-pounds and a very easy / smooth mover (Also QB1). Brother is one of the fastest players in the state / there are multiple D1 track athlete and even Olympic background in the family. In the box the tools are obvious / explosive and he’s been 89 mph from the OF, and 86 mph off the bump.

Braylon Collier SS / OF / Perkins, OH / 2025

Report: We seen plenty of this athletic/toolsy prospect this spring and were impressed with what we seen. Speed to burn. Good looking swing. A lot to like. Also a WR prospect in football. One we look forward to seeing more of this summer.

Miller Hutchison OF / 3B / Newark Catholic, OH / 2025

Report: 6-foot-3, almost untapped frame. Very functionally athletic (QB1 on the gridiron) w/potential for elite arm talent. We caught a start where he was up to 87 mph and he was 91mph from the OF this winter. If he can prove he can command the zone consistently he has potential to sky rocket up this list. Positionally - all the things we said about the arm are also true with the bat.

Brendon Rowe OF / RHP / Carlisle, OH / 2025

Report: 6-foot-3, physical yet projectable frame with explosive tools. A sub 7.0 runner w/already 100mph capabilities off the bat and mid to upper 80s juice on the bump. As he continues to fill out he has a chance to be near or at the top of the list of two-way power prospects.

Ian Cain 3B / RHP / Avon, OH / 2025

Report: When you turn on the film he makes 6.6 speed and upper 90s exit velos look about as easy as you can possibly make it look. As fluid of an explosive athlete as we have in the class. Wrapping up the arsenal on the defensive side of the ball is quality ball skills and feel for the game.

Connor Corbett OF / LHP / Heath, OH / 2025

Report: Speed kills and Corbett has as much of that as anyone in this class. Type of player who puts constant pressure on the opposing defense with his ability to get down the line / swipe bags. Also can really track it in the OF. We had him at 6.59 this winter and it plays just as fast if not faster in game.

TOP UNCOMMITTED PROSPECTS BY POSITION
