Brunswick's Kyle Michalik is Climbing the Early 2013 Recruiting Boards

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound right-handed pitching prospect has made several stops on the summer circuit.
Michalik, a junior that is a two-way player at Brunswick High School and a member of the T3 Pelicans travel program, has displayed a consistent 84-87 mile per hour fastball with arm side run. As he grows and develops, Michalik is likely to see his velocity continue to increase.
When his fastball is combined with his 74-75 mile per hour 12/6 curveball, the Brunswick standout can be a dominating force on the mound.
“I think my strength, as a pitcher, is the ability to command the zone and attack hitters,” he notes.
As a freshman, Michalik started on varsity for Brunswick High School. Since that time, he hasn’t looked back.
“This fall, I have heard from and either have visited or will be visiting Kent State, Ohio State, Michigan State, University of Cincinnati, Michigan and Michigan State.” In addition, he has been communicating with Toledo, Wright State, Akron, and Mount Union.
Looking towards next spring, Michalik is committed to growing as a player. “My body is still developing and growing, so I am still developing as a pitcher and a player.”
To improve his craft, he notes, “I am in a speed and conditioning and weight training program to help put on about 15 pounds of muscle by the spring.”
