OK Fall Underclass Games: Infielder Reports

PBR OK hosted the Fall Underclass Games at Oral Roberts University which featured 47 players from across the state with players from the 2025 class to the 2023 class.  There were multiple performers that shined throughout the day during the showcase portion and then into the following game.  Today we take a look at the 29 infielders from the event with breakdowns on the body profile, hitting mechanics and power numbers, arm actions, defensive actions, and more.  Multiple guys put up impressive numbers on both sides of the ball and you can see all event stats and details by clicking here.

 

Grayson Smith, Bishop Kelley (OK), 2023
 Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
 Body: 6-3, 180-pounds. Physical and mature frame with present strength.
 Hit: RHH. Starts with a slightly open stance with the front foot turned in and weigh pre shifted into the back leg.  Hands get set well below shoulder height with a relaxed back elbow and vertical bat angle.  Strong weight stack onto the back leg with a leg kick stride.  Lower half works rotationally through the zone to a firm front leg.  Uphill bat path and tries to work the ball up in the air to the pull side.  Hands work quickly through the zone and shows good overall bat speed.  Strong rotational acceleration metrics. 
 Power: 90.96 max exit velocity, averaged 82.61 mph. 309’ max distance. Shows some strength at contact with potential pullside power.
 Arm: RH.  INF - 88 mph.  3/4 arm slot with a long and loose arm action.
 Defense: Attacks the ball with short and choppy footwork and prefers to let the ball travel to him.  Fields the ball out in front of the body with good glove action and soft hands.  Clean exchanges out of the glove.
 Run: 7.31 runner in the 60. 

Cale Sudderth, Lone Grove  (OK), 2024
Positional Profile: 1B/LHP
Body: 6-2, 190-pounds. Physical and mature frame with present strength.
Hit: LHH. Neutral stance with an athletic posture.  Hands get set at shoulder height with a high back elbow and slight arm bar posture and 45 degree bat angle.  Strong weight stack onto the back leg with a leg kick stride.  Lower half works linearly through the zone into a firm front leg. Linear path with the hands and works hard to the inside part of the ball.  Utilizes the middle of the field well.  Has quick hands through the zone and very good bat speed.  Maintains balance well throughout the swing.
Power: 88.86 max exit velocity, averaged 74.27 mph. 326’ max distance. Strength in the lower half with good power potential.
Arm: LH.  INF - 88 mph. OF - 88 mph. Over the top arm slot with a clean and loose arm action.
Defense: In the outfield attacks the ball with smooth footwork and controlled rhythm.  Fields the ball on the inside of the glove side leg with some glove action and soft hands.  Shuffle crow hop technique with good momentum headed towards the target.  In the infield fields the ball slightly deep into the body with soft hands and developing glove action.  Shows proper footwork around the bag with shorter footwork.
Run: 7.28 runner in the 60. 

Cole Girard, Piedmont  (OK), 2023
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 6-0, 180-pounds. Athletic build with room for more strength to the frame in the future.
Hit: RHH. Neutral stance with an athletic posture.  Floating hands that get set at shoulder height with a high back elbow and vertical bat angle.  Quick rhythm to the swing.  Strong weight shift into the lower half with a leg kick stride.   Hands work quickly through the zone and shows good overall bat speed.  Strong rotational acceleration metrics.  Sees the ball deep in the zone and works the hands to the inside part of the ball.  Slight uphill bat path with lean back in posture at contact point.
Power: 89.9 max exit velocity, averaged 81.59 mph. 295’ max distance. Has some strength in the hands.
Arm: RH.  INF - 87 mph. OF - 90 mph. High 3/4 arm slot with a loose and clean arm action.
Defense: In the outfield attacks the ball with aggressive routes and shorter strides.  Fields the ball out in front of the glove side leg with some glove action.   Utilizes a back knee driven forward crow hop technique with good momentum and carry to the target.  In the infield attacks the ball with direct routes and short and choppy footwork.  Fields the ball out in front of the body with a high waist bend and soft hands.
Run: 7.39 runner in the 60. 

Caden Allen, Deer Creek  (OK), 2024
Positional Profile: SS/OF
Body: 5-11, 145-pounds. Lean and developing build with room for added strength and size in the future.
Hit: RHH. Open stance with an upright posture.  Hands float in the swing getting set below shoulder height with a vertical bat angle and a relaxed back elbow.  Rhythmic two tap stride to a neutral position and athletic base.  Lower half works linearly through the zone into a slightly bent front leg. Hands work quickly through the zone with some bat speed.  Hands work hard to the inside part of the ball and has a level bat path.  Short finish to extension with slight lean back in the posture after contact.
Power: 88.35 max exit velocity, averaged 82.21 mph. 298’ max distance.
Arm: RH.  INF - 83 mph.  High 3/4 arm slot with a clean arm action.
Defense: Shows a feel for working around the ball with good routes.  Smooth rhythm and maintains good body control.  Fields the ball out in front of the body with a feel for glove action and soft hands.  Shows smooth lateral range.
Run: 7.34 runner in the 60. 

Caleb Hines, Oklahoma Christian (OK), 2025
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 6-0, 155-pounds. Lean and projectable build with room for added strength and size in the future.
Hit: RHH. Neutral stance with an upright posture.  Hands get set at shoulder height with a relaxed back elbow and flat barrel angle.  Short weight stack onto the back leg.  Utilizes a quick and simple stride with foot getting down early.  Short linear push off the back leg into a firm front leg. Short and compact swing with hands working quickly through the zone.  Line drive approach and shows the ability to drive the ball to all fields.  Shows good overall bat speed.  Does a good job of matching plane with the pitch and shows strong rotational acceleration metrics.
Power: 91.15 max exit velocity, averaged 82.3 mph. 276’ max distance. Hits with good leverage and hand strength.
Arm: RH.  INF - 83 mph. OF - 90 mph. Over the top arm slot with a clean arm action and good hand speed.
Defense: In the outfield attacks the ball with smooth rhythm and aggressive routes.  Fields the ball out in front of the glove side leg with some glove action and soft hands.  Utilizes a quick shuffle crow hop technique with good momentum headed to the bag.  In the infield attacks the ball with active feet and direct routes.   Shows some glove action and proper footwork around the bag.
Run: 7.45 runner in the 60. 

Layton Bryan, Chickasha (OK), 2025
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5-9, 145-pounds. Lean and developing build with room for added strength and size in the future.
Hit: LHH. Neutral stance with a slightly crouched posture.  Hands get set at shoulder height with a slow load and a high back elbow.  Barrel gets set with a slightly wrapped barrel angle.  Quick load into the lower half with a short leg lift stride.  Lower half works linearly through the swing into a bent front leg.  Smooth rhythm throughout the swing. Strong top hand swing with a rotational path around the ball.  Slight uphill bat path and does a good job of working the lower half underneath the ball to match plane.  Whippy barrel path and plays the ball out in front of the plate.
Power: 82.57 max exit velocity, averaged 77.63 mph. 257’ max distance.
Arm: RH.  INF - 82 mph.  3/4 arm slot with a clean arm action.
Defense: Shows a feel for working around the ball with good routes and rhythm.  Fields the ball out in front of the body with good glove action and soft hands.  Shows smooth lateral range and shows the ability to field the ball well on the run.
Run: 7.34 runner in the 60. 

Carlos Lopez, Mustang (OK), 2024
Positional Profile: LHP/1B
Body: 5-9, 186-pounds. Stocky and physical build with present strength.
Hit: LHH. Slightly open stance with a very upright posture and narrow base.  Hands get set at shoulder height with a vertical bat angle and relaxed back elbow.  Slow loads into the lower half with a strong weight stack.  Utilizes a simple stride back to neutral with with good linear push off the back foot into a firm front leg.   Level bat path with a line drive approach.  Hand work quickly through the zone.  Strong top hand finish.  Gets good extension with a pull side approach.  Maintains balance well throughout the swing.
Power: 95.17 max exit velocity, averaged 92.33 mph. 369’ max distance. Very good strength at contact with an impressive round of bp with consistent hard contact and good carry to the pull side.
Arm: LH.  INF - 82 mph.  High 3/4 arm slot with a loose and clean arm action.
Defense: Attacks the ball with short footwork and direct routes.  Fields with a sure glove and a feel for glove action.  Moves well laterally and shows proper footwork around the bag.
Run: 7.66 runner in the 60. 

Owen Bailor, Bixby (OK), 2023
Positional Profile: LHP/1B
Body: 6-4, 195-pounds. Mature and durable frame with present strength.
Hit: LHH. Starts with a slightly open stance and upright posture with a narrow base.   Hands get set at shoulder height with a high back elbow and 45 degree bat angle.  Quick sink into the lower half with a simple kick out stride to an athletic base.  Lower half works short and rotationally through the swing into a slightly bent front leg. Works the hands to the inside part of the ball and works the opposite field well.  Level bat path with strong bottom hand through the zone.  Gets good extension even with longer levers and a line drive approach.
Power: 93.2 max exit velocity, averaged 84.66 mph. 278’ max distance.
Arm: LH.  INF - 81 mph.  High 3/4 arm slot with a loose arm action.
Defense: Attacks the ball with smooth feet and controlled rhythm.  Fields the ball out in front of the body with smooth hands and good glove action.  Shows good footwork around the bag and proper lower half footwork on throws to second.
Run: 7.74 runner in the 60. 

Eli Buxton, Charles Page (OK), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP/1B
Body: 6-4, 170-pounds. Long limbed and lean frame with room for added
Hit: RHH. Starts with a very wide base and slightly crouched posture.  Hands work back slowly deep into position with slight arm bar posture at shoulder height.  Barrel gets set slightly flat and at a 45 degree angle.  Quick weight rock into the lower half and utilizes a no stride approach.  Lower half works short and linear into a firm front leg. Strong top swing with rotational plane around the ball.  Pull side approach with a level bat path and line drive approach.  Does a good job of matching plane with the pitch.  Hands work quickly through the zone.
Power: 89.2 max exit velocity, averaged 77.45 mph. 286’ max distance.
Arm: RH.  INF - 81 mph.  Over the top arm slot with a longer arm action.
Defense: Fields the ball with active and controlled feet.  Fields the ball slightly deep into the body with developing glove action and a firm glove.  Shows the ability to field the ball well on the run and proper footwork around the bag.
Run: 7.78 runner in the 60. 

Luke Beeler, Holland Hall (OK), 2025
Positional Profile: C/1B
Body: 6-0, 190-pounds. Mature and physical frame with present strength.
Hit: RHH. Slightly open stance with an athletic posture.  Hands get set quietly into position with hands back deep and a vertical bat angle.  Slow loads into the lower half with strong linear push into a firm front leg.  Quiet set up with repeatable rhythm  Hands work short and direct to the ball.  Good overall bat speed and hand speed.  Level bat path with good extension.  Whippy barrel and shows the ability to drive the ball to all fields with power. 
Power: 97.99 max exit velocity, averaged 87.01 mph. 338’ max distance. Very good strength at contact with strong power potential. 
Arm: RH. C - 75 mph. INF - 79 mph.  High 3/4 arm slot with a short and quick arm action.
Defense: Behind the plate receives the ball with one knee in the dirt and strong wrists.  Feet work in good rhythm with quick hip turn on throws to second.  Throws had good carry and accuracy to the bag.  Shows proper blocking technique with good posture.  In the infield shows active feet and a feel for glove action.  Fields the ball out in front of the body and shows good footwork around the bag.
Run: 7.53 runner in the 60. 

Tanner Ellis, Norman North (OK), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 5-10, 175-pounds. Physical build with present strength in the lower half.
Hit: RHH. Slightly open stance with an athletic posture and wider base.  Hands get set quietly into positon at shoulder height with a relaxed back elbow and flat barrel angle.  Short weight stack onto the back side.  Quick leg kick stride with lower half working linearly through the zone into a firm front leg. Hands work rotationally around the plane with a strong top hand finish.  Pull side approach with a level bat path.  Hands work quickly through the zone with good overall bat speed.  Strong rotational acceleration metics with a good ability to get on plane with the pitch through extension.
Power: 89.39 max exit velocity, averaged 78.3 mph. 329’ max distance. Strength in the hands at contact with good carry and extension.
Arm: RH.  INF - 79 mph.  Over the top arm slot with a clean arm action.
Defense: Attacks the ball with active feet and aggressive routes to the ball.  Fields the ball deep into the body with developing glove action and a firm glove.  Works well laterally with clean exchanges out of the glove.

Easton Martin, Victory Christian  (OK), 2025
Positional Profile: OF/SS
Body: 5-9, 145-pounds. Lean and developing build with room for added strength and size in the future.
Hit: SH. Neutral stance with an athletic posture.  Hands get set at shoulder height with a slightly wrapped barrel angle.  Weight shifts quickly into the back side and rocks into the front leg linearly.  Leg kick stride with weight transferring into a firm front leg. Linear path with the hands and a level bat path.  Line drive approach and utilizes the whole field well.  Whippy barrel through the zone.  Hands work quickly through the zone and shows a strong ability to match plane with the pitch.

Fields the ball out in front of the glove side leg with good glove action and soft hands.  Step behind crow hop technique.  In the infield attacks the ball with smooth rhythm and lateral routes around the ball.  Fields the ball on the move well and shows the ability to change arm slots when the play dictates.  Shows a good slow roller technique.

Carson Cooper, Edmond Memorial  (OK), 2025
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 6-1, 140-pounds. Long limbed and lean projectable build with room for added strength and size to the frame in the future.
Hit: RHH. Neutral stance with a very upright posture.  Hands get set well below shoulder height with a relaxed back elbow and 45 degree bat angle.  Gets good separation with the hands.  Slow loads onto the back leg with a leg lift stride.  Lower half works linearly through the zone into a slightly bent front leg.   Rotational path around the ball with the hands with very quick hands through the zone and advanced bat speed metrics.  Level bat path and a pull side approach.  Plays the ball out in front of the plate.  Good rhythm throughout the swing.

Hit: RHH. Neutral stance with a crouched posture and weight pre shifted into the back leg.  Hands get set below shoulder height with a relaxed back elbow and 45 degree bat angle.  Simple stride back to neutral with a lower half working linearly through the zone into a firm front leg. Slight uphill bat path with a rotational path with the hands.  Strong top hand finish.  Leans back in the posture at contact point.  Hands work quickly through the zone.

Hit: LHH. Slightly open stance and an upright posture.  Hands get set at shoulder height with a high back elbow.  Quick weight stack onto the back leg with a short linear push into a firm front leg. Uses a short two tap stride with good rhythm. Hands work rotationally around the path with a strong top hand finish.  Pull side approach and plays the ball out in front of the plate.  Shows quick hands through the zone.
Power: 82.08 max exit velocity, averaged 73.81 mph. 157’ max distance.

Body: 5-10, 140-pounds. Lean and developing build with room for added strength and size in the future.
Hit: LHH. Slightly open stance with an athletic posture.  Hands get set at shoulder height quietly into position with a relaxed back elbow and a 45 degree bat angle.  Quick weight transfer into the back leg with slight raise up in posture.  Utilizes a quick leg lift stride with lower half working short and linear to a firm front leg.  Hands work hard to the inside part of the ball with a level bat path and line drive approach.  Short and compact swing with quick hands through the zone and good extension.  Does a good job of matching plane with the pitch.

Body: 5-10, 135-pounds. Lean and developing build with room for added strength and size in the future.
Hit: RHH. Neutral stance with an upright posture.  Hands get set just above shoulder height with a relaxed back elbow and a 45 degree bat angle.  Short weight stack on to the back leg with slight drift into a firm front leg.  Works from an athletic base in the lower half. Works the hands to the inside part of the ball with a level bat path and line drive approach.  Utilizes the middle of the field well.  Hands work quickly through the zone.  Works the ball out in front of the plate with head behind the contact point.
Power: 84.36 max exit velocity, averaged 77.73 mph. 291’ max distance.
Arm: RH.  INF - 76 mph.  High 3/4 arm slot with a clean arm action.

Madaxon Aunko, Collinsville (OK), 2024
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5-7, 135-pounds. Lean and developing build with room for added strength and size in the future.
Hit: SH. Slightly open stance with an athletic posture.  Hands get set quietly into position at shoulder height with a 45 degree bat angle.  From the right side works from a wider base with similar hand set up.  Sinks into the lower half and utilizes a quick leg lift stride back to neutral.  Lower half works rotationally through the zone into a slightly bent front leg.
Power: 86.06 max exit velocity, averaged 64.92 mph. 261’ max distance.
Arm: RH.  INF - 75 mph.  3/4 arm slot with a whippy and loose arm action.
Defense: Attacks the ball with active feet and a feel for routes around the ball.  Shows good lateral range and body control.  Works well underneath the ball with good glove action and soft hands.  Fields the ball well on the run.

Mason Pickering, Hilldale (OK), 2025
Positional Profile: C/1B
Body: 6-0, 175-pounds. Projectable and physical build with room for added strength in the future.
Hit: LHH. Slightly open stance with a narrow base and upright posture.  Hands get set at shoulder height with a high back elbow and slightly wrapped barrel.  Sinks weight directly over the back leg and utilizes a leg kick stride that stays with a narrow base. Hands work hard to the inside part of the ball.  Sees the ball deep into the zone and utilizes the whole field well.  Ball jumps off barrel at extension.  Slight lean back in posture at contact with a level bat path.
Power: 86.66 max exit velocity, averaged 80.96 mph. 260’ max distance.
Arm: RH. C - 70 mph. INF - 75 mph. OF - 72 mph. High 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action.
Defense: Behind the plate receives the ball with one knee in the dirt and good hip flexibility.  Works quickly out of the crouch with a pre turned body.  Clean exchanges out of the glove.  Strong blocking technique with good posture and recovery.  In the outfield attacks the ball with smooth rhythm and controlled footwork.  Shuffle style crow hop with slight momentum headed towards target.  In the infield attacks the ball with shorter footwork and good lateral range.  Shows a feel for routes around the ball.

Nathion Deleplank, Edmond Santa Fe (OK), 2025
Positional Profile: 3B/OF
Body: 5-10, 135-pounds. Lean and developing build with room for added strength and size in the future.
Hit: RHH. Starts with a slightly open stance and athletic posture.  Hands get set at shoulder height with a tucked back elbow and vertical bat angle.  Quick weight stack onto the back leg with a knee knock leg kick stride.  Lower half works linearly through the zone into a slightly bent front leg. Hands work very quick through the zone and shows advanced bat speed metrics for the class.  Rotational path with the hands and a pull side approach with an uphill bat path.  Strong rotational acceleration metrics.
Power: 86.51 max exit velocity, averaged 76.15 mph. 332’ max distance. Shows some strength at contact with good carry and extension.
Arm: RH.  INF - 74 mph. OF - 76 mph. High 3/4 arm slot with a long arm action and release.

Body: 5-11, 160-pounds. Proportional and athletic build with room for more strength and size to the frame in the future.
Hit: RHH. Open stance with an athletic posture.  Hands get set at shoulder height with a high back elbow and slight arm bar posture and a vertical bat angle.  Slow loads into the lower half with a strong weight stack onto the back leg.  Lower half works rotationally through the zone into a slightly bent front leg. Hands work rotationally around the ball with a strong top hand finish.  Slight uphill bat path and a pull side approach.  Hands work quickly through the zone and shows strong rotational acceleration metrics.  Does a good job of matching plane to the pitch.

Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5-9, 135-pounds. Lean and developing build with room for added strength and size in the future.
Hit: RHH. Open stance with an athletic posture.  Hands get below shoulder height with a relaxed back elbow and a 45 degree bat angle.  Quick weight shift into the lower half with and rocks linearly through the swing into a firm front leg.   Short and compact stroke with a line drive approach.  Slight uphill bat path and does a good job of working the lower half underneath the ball to help match plane.  Head stays behind contact well and shows good overall balance throughout the swing.
Power: 75.21 max exit velocity, averaged 70.31 mph. 268’ max distance.
Arm: RH.  INF - 74 mph.  3/4 arm slot with a short arm action.
Defense: Attacks the ball with smooth rhythm and feel for routes working around the ball.  Clean exchanges out of the glove.  Fields the ball slightly deep into the body with good glove action and soft hands.  Fields the ball on the run well and shows a good slow roller technique.

Jacob Ervin, Deer Creek (OK), 2025
Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-7, 125-pounds. Lean and developing build with room for added strength and size in the future.
Hit: SH. Starts with a neutral stance and narrow base with athletic posture.  Hands get set deep back from the left side with a slight arm bar posture and a vertical bat angle.  From the right side hands work a little closer to the body.  Short leg lift stride with strong weight transfer into a firm front leg.
