After scouring through box scores from the week from programs all across the state, PBR Oklahoma announces this week's player of the week honors belongs to 2023 catcher Dominic Ornelas from Sand Springs. Ornelas finished the week going 9-15 (.600 average) with two doubles, three homers, and 9 RBI. It wasn't just that stat padding that earned the NOC Enid commit the award, it was the timing of some of the hits and RBI that mattered most. In Monday's 2-0 win over Ponca City it was Ornelas' two run blast that was the difference maker. Again on Saturday it was Ornelas coming up clutch with a three run homer which was the difference against Enid in their 4-2 win. Ornelas has been a big reason in the rise of the Sandites' program over the past two years and continues to be a key cog in the middle of their lineup.
