Class of 2015 Garners Attention in Combined Rankings

Kyle DatresThe PA Class of 2015 has emerged as the top recruiting class to come through Pennsylvania in some time. We took a look at the top end of this class in an article on Tuesday (see Class of 2015 Making Some Noise). The Prep Baseball Report combined rankings for the class were released today and prospects from PA were well represented.

Of the 250 prospects included in the combined rankings, 32 are from Pennsylvania. SS/RHP Kyle Datres (No. 1 in PA, No. 6 overall) and SS John Aiello (No. 2 in PA, No. 7 overall) are among the top ten players ranked. Pennsylvania prospects fill nine of the top 50 spots in the latest rankings.

John AielloThis class has already seen 11 players make commitments to ACC and SEC schools, with a number of top 25 prospects likely to make similar commitments in the near future.

While it is still a bit early to make any predictions on the number of draft picks likely to come out of this class, it is safe to say that pro scouts will be making more than a few trips into Pennsylvania over the next two years in preparation for the 2015 MLB amateur draft.
