Our rankings system is the heartbeat of the Prep Baseball Report. Our staff of over 100 scouts scour the country on a daily basis, from showcase events, high school baseball seasons, summer tournaments and more to find and evaluate the best prospects across the country. Our team is second to none, and with our expansive reach we have the ability to rank more players through intimate knowledge of their skill sets better than anyone.

Starting August 29 our states will begin to roll out individual state rankings for the 2025 class. Below is an outline of the week ahead and what to expect and look for as we countdown to the Overall Rankings release on Friday, August 26.

Monday

August 29

Following a stellar spring that ultimately led to his commitment to Auburn, RHP Fleming Hall (Trinity Presbyterian, AL) takes over the No. 1 spot in Alabama. After a big spring serving as a starter in the rotation as a freshman for the eventual Class 3A State Champions, Hall has been up to 91 mph with his fastball and gets hard arm-side run while spinning a sharp slider in the mid-70's. Donovan Jeffrey (Manchester, VA) bring some easy raw juice to the top of the Virginia state rankings. He showed off some obvious power at the Future Games. At No. 2 in Arkansas, Jaison DeLamar (Fayetteville, AR) had his coming out party at last month's Future Games where his collection of tools shined brightest. The recent Arkansas commit ran 6.94, had a 101 mph exit velo, was up to 93 mph on the mound, and broke the Future Games outfield record at 97 mph. Twin brothers Jacob and Joseph Parker (Purvis, MS) bring a pair of intriguing left-handed bats to the top of the Mississippi rankings at No. 1 and 3 respectively.

Tuesday

August 30

The top name highlighting Tuesday's launches belongs to Ethan Holliday (Stillwater, OK) who remains the number one ranked player in Oklahoma and likely the country after a monster Spring and Summer. The left-handed hitting OSU commit has shown the ability to drive the ball out of the ballpark to all fields with one of the smoothest strokes in the country. Staying put at the top of Missouri is INF/RHP Ty Thompson (Rock Bridge, MO), who’s one of the nation’s highest regarded prospects for the 2025 class. A wiry athlete with physical projection left to come, Thompson’s athleticism is his calling card and he’s certainly proven that to us already in his amateur career, running a 6.57 laser timed 60-yard dash at LakePoint last summer as a 14-year-old. A new No. 1 in Texas goes to Kayson Cunningham (SA Johnson, TX), a left-handed hitting middle infielder with some of the best barrel skills in the state, regardless of class. LHP Briggs McKEnzie (Corinth Holders, NC) headlines a strong North Carolina 2025 class. The lean and athletic southpaw lit it up at the PBR Future Games a month ago, with a cool, easy 87-90 and tight spinning breaking ball.

Wednesday

August 31

RHP Blake Ilitch (University Liggett, MI) takes over the top spot in Michigan after showing off an advanced arsenal on the mound this summer. The ball jumps out of his hand working upper 80’s with his fastball with the ability to get into the low 90’s. A polished 4 pitch mix and recent Duke commit, Ilitch has established himself as Michigan’s top 2025 arm with more projection on the way at 6-foot-3, 195 pounds. There’s a fresh face atop the Illinois 2025 board, and one that’s quickly ascending as an upper-tier prospect in the Midwest, LHP Jack Bauer (Lincoln-Way East). Bauer erupted this summer and followed that up with an eye-popping performance at the PBR Future Games as an underclassman, running his fastball up to 90.4 mph, pitching in the upper-80s across two dominant looks.

Thursday

September 1

Cameron Caminiti (Saguaro, AZ) headlines Thursday's release as the top prospect in Arizona. An athletic L/L two-way talent committed to LSU, he's had an eye-popping summer flashing 91-93 mph velocity late this summer. In Washington, ATH Xavier Neyens (Mount Vernon, WA) has done nothing to loosen his hold on the top spot. Nationally he has some of the best pop in the entire country for his class and can handle multiple spots on the diamond. On the mound, he just recently bumped 94 mph with his FB this summer. Overall, Neyens is a major talent and shows no signs of slowing down. Keep an eye out for where he lands in the updated national rankings that drop tomorrow.
