Boaz Impressive as East Surry Gets By Forbush

East Surry hosted Forbush HS on Wednesday night at home in a conference game.  The Cardinals ran out their ace, Folger Boaz who had a strong outing working into the 6th inning and leaving with a 7-2 lead.  With the win, East Surry moves to 5-1, 1-0 in conference while Forbush drops to 3-3, 0-1 in conference.  The two teams are scheduled to conclude their two game series on Thursday at Forbush.

North Carolina commit. 6-foot-2, 205 pounds.  Mature frame with strength present.  Simple setup and delivery.  Stable head. Lift to the mid chest, kicking out from balance and swinging to an on-line and square foot strike.  Level, the arm has a short action, naturally activating the scapular.  High-3/4 slot with good arm speed.  Slightly rotational through the finish at times.  Fastball worked with average ride through the zone, occasionally with hard, late run.   Control over command early, showing solid feel for being around the zone. Erratic at times as the outing wore on.  Fastball sat
