Illinois Class of 2023 Rankings: Newcomers

With the summer circuit officially coming to an end and the fall transition beginning, an overhaul to the 2023 rankings was overdue. Last week we updated the Illinois 2023 rankings, and expanded it by 50 players to create a top-175 overall.

Previously, we published stories regarding this rankings update that covered the prospects at the top of the class, which you can read here, and we published a story on Wednesday that detailed the state’s ‘Risers’ within the ‘23 rankings, which you read here.

Below, we’ll be breaking down the top prospects who are also making their Illinois rankings debut in this end-of-summer update. The top-ranked among them, RHP Jarron Thompson (Waubonsie Valley; uncommitted), was covered thoroughly in our rankings release story last week. At No. 11 overall in the state, Thompson is presently the highest ranked uncommitted prospect in Illinois’ 2023 class.
