Antwerp vs Fairview - 5/4/19

By: Dylan Hefflinger
PBR Ohio Editor in Chief / NW Scout

Austin Lichty RHP / SS / Antwerp, OH / 2021

Report:  6-foot, 140-pound righty started for the Archers and was dominant on the hill. Uptempo deliver that requires little effort. Shows a long, loose arm with the ball coming out of a high-3/4 slot. Shows a slight pause at the top of his chest high leg lift before getting into his drop and drive load. Good direction throughout delivery. Look for the velo to rise for the righty. Also can swing it well, while hitting in the two-hole. Leg kick as timing mechanism. Good athlete. One to keep an eye on through the spring/summer.

Pitch Repertoire:
Fastball:
79-81, touching 82 mph.

Curveball 64-65 mph. 11/5 break with good movement. Has the makings of a solid breaking ball.

Game Performance: 7 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 10 K

Batavia vs Clinton Massie - 4/29/19

By: Jordan Chiero
PBR Ohio Director of Scouting

Jared Teke C / RHP / Batavia, OH / 2022

Report: High follow in his class. Above average athlete with a very fast arm. Lacked command at times but there’s no denying the arm talent. Fastball jumps out of his hand, sitting 80-83 with a few 84’s and touching 85 mph. Shows all the signs of a high velo guy down the road. Breaking ball was also advanced for his class. Spins it in there at 71-72 mph with present swing/miss to it.

DeSales vs Bishop Watterson - 4/29/19

By: Ben Werner
PBR Ohio Intern

Joey Velazquez OF / LHP / Desales, OH / 2019

Report: The 6-foot-2, 210 pound University of Michigan baseball and football signee. One of the top prospects in the state, who will get draft looks in the future. Velazquez looked dominate against Bishop Watterson. 3-4 with 2 doubles, 1 run, 2 RBIs. Clear stud on the field. Very strong, athletic build. Clean, athletic swing through the zone with very apparent power. Strong arm from CF. Extremely talented 5-tool player in the class of 2019.
