Ontario Insider: Top Underclass Uncommitted Pitching Prospects

With the Summer season coming to an end and the 2016-2017 high school sports season as well as fall ball getting underway, we would like to take a look at some of the top uncommitted prospects at each position. Over the past month we looked at the top 2017 prospects and as you can see by our 2017 Player Rankings there are numerous talented prospects available.

Today we are starting with the top uncommitted underclass pitching prospects in Ontario. We will look to create a few top uncommitted lists each week and as you can see by our 2018 and 2019 Player Rankings, there are numerous talented prospects available.

Name: Eric Cerantola
Rank: 3rd in Ontario’s Class of 2018
Scouting Report: Cerantola is a lean and long with a great projectable pitcher's body at 6-foot-5, 195-pounds. Over the head windup, arm is cean in the back and uses leverage well to work downhill. Fastball works in the 85-88 mph range. Shows really good feel for his curveball, spins the ball well and can throw for strikes with good downward action. Limited viewing with changeup.
College Outlook: Cerantola has the ability to be a frontline guy at the next level. Looks the part and there is more to come. Still somewhat raw with reps and innings, he is a talented hockey player as well and has lost time in the winter with his development due to his schedule. Thus said, the arm is fresh with limited miles on it.
Receiving Interest: Since the Future Games and his performance from T12, Cerantola has received interest from many D1 programs. Also, has been named to the Canadian Junior National Team for their fall October trip.
Offers: Miami of Ohio
