PBR Names Paul Panaccione as New Arizona Scouting Director

PBR Staff

Prep Baseball Report is proud to welcome Paul Panaccione as our new Arizona Scouting Director. A decorated winner as a player and coach at Grand Canyon University, Panaccione’s baseball roots run deep across Arizona.

A respected talent evaluator and communicator, Panaccione brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for Arizona baseball to Prep Baseball Report.

“Paul has a sterling reputation in Arizona, and has won at every level,” said Prep Baseball Report President Sean Duncan. “He has a passion for Arizona baseball and helping players, which I think will resonate with all the players, parents, coaches and scouts in the state. I couldn’t be more excited to have Paul part of our team.”

Panaccione comes to Prep Baseball Report from Grand Canyon University, where he served as an assistant coach for three years, including helping the Lopes advance to the school’s first Division I Regional in 2021.

A shortstop, Panaccione was drafted in the 10th round by the Washington Nationals after his decorated career at GCU between 2013-2016. As a player, he twice earned first-team All-WAC honors (2015-2016) and, overall, was one of the Antelopes’ most decorated performers in school history.

“I believe everything I’ve done in my baseball career thus far has brought me to where I’m meant to be now, and I can’t thank the people that have helped me along the way enough,” Panaccione said. “Seeing what PBR as an organization is doing for players across the country excites me, and I am proud to be a part of it here in Arizona. I see the value of this organization and I’m ready to build on the foundation. I’m ready to help take this state’s baseball to the next level.”

Prior to his career at GCU, Panaccione led Liberty HS in Peoria to the Arizona state championship in 2010 and a runner-up finish in 2012. Panaccione twice was named All-State in baseball and football.

Now Panaccione will bring his baseball experiences, connections and passions for scouting to Arizona’s prep baseball scene. He will work tirelessly to bring to you the most comprehensive high school baseball information Arizona has ever seen, and provide scouting coverage to all corners of the state. But he can’t do it alone. Please email him at [email protected] with college commitments, relevant news, and top players in your area.
