Senior Winter Standouts

Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

Winter events have been going on around the country for the last several weeks and many players are showing improvements. Here are some seniors who have stood out recently.

Darryl Buggs, OF/RHP, Heritage-Conyers HS, GA
An Alabama-Birmingham recruit, Buggs was without a doubt the top statistical performer from last month's Georgia Preseason All-State event. His athleticism was evident last summer at LakePoint, but he truly put on a show and exceeded expectations. He ran one of the top 60 times, a 6.64, then really put his athleticism on display. At the plate, his hands work quickly through the zone and his long levers get out front as he hammers line drives with a 95 exit velocity. In the outfield, he showed off premium arm strength as he attacks the baseball, throwing 94 mph to home. Adding to that, he hopped on the mound, topping out at 87 while offering three serviceable off-speed pitches.
