The 2022 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Tennessee.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Murfreesboro at the Spring Fling state championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Tennessee. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing our preseason Top 10 in each TSSAA classification and the preseason Power 25 Rankings.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Our team will be providing boots on the ground coverage, scouting games and highlighting the Volunteer State's talent. This season we will be releasing players of the week, updating our classification rankings, and the Power 25. Feel free to give us a follow on Twitter and Instagram to stay up to date on all the latest baseball news.

*Please note that all information is based on team preview questionnaires that were sent out and returned by the participating high school coaches.

Team Outlook

The Fulton Falcons are looking to build off a rocky 2021 season, but they brought in head coach Matt Byrd over the summer, who has a proven track recored as a head coach. The Falcons will be moving up from 2A to 3A under the new TSSAA classifications. The new district features Austin-East, Lenoir City, Sequoyah, and South Doyle, which none played in the same district last season, so there will be a lot of new matchups to follow in the Knoxville area. Byrd will lean on the team's overall speed and his veteran groups in the infield to help them lay the foundation on the new era. Sr. INF/RHP Antonio Kyle looks to be the anchor of the club, contributing as a veteran presence in the infield and on the mound. Jr. SS Marcellus Jackson is a high level athlete, as a the region offensive player of the year in football and currently starring in basketball, and he'll look to get up to speed coming out of hoops and be a key piece at SS. Sr. UTL Paul Anthony Neskaug will do a little of everything for the Falcons and help them compete in his final high school season. The Falcons have some veterans in place and a new coaching regime underway as they'll look to find some consistency on the mound to compete in the district with the likes of South Doyle and Lenoir City.
