The 2023 high school baseball season is underway with practice having started and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Texas
Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the Austin at the State Tournament, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Texas. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and eventually releasing our preseason Top 30 teams in the state.
Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our players of the week and updating the Top 30 teams in the state.
*Please note that all information is based on team preview questionnaires that were sent out and returned by the participating high school coaches.

Team Outlook
The 2022 Corsicana Tigers have become a fixture in the state playoffs, and last year was no different. The Tigers had a 24-5 record and was a Regional Quarterfinalist. The team lost a lot of contributors to graduation, but Coach Autrey and his staff will have the Tigers ready to make another run this year.
Brydan Hernandez provides the senior leadership and big game experience for this team, as he has been a integral part of the Tigers success the last couple years. A 2022 All State Recipient, Hernandez should be the teams Ace on the mound and is a lockdown defender behind the plate. Another returning starter that was all district last year is Adrian Baston. Baston could help out in the outfield or infield this year. They also return Blane Farmer, who will help provide some veteran leadership. Lookout for Freshman Easton Autrey as well. The 6'2 LHH could provide some pop in the middle of the lineup.
Corsicana has some big shoes to fill from last years team, but Coach Autrey is one of the best in the state and I expect him to have the Tigers playing their best baseball as the playoffs roll around.
