The 2023 high school baseball season is underway with practice having started and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Texas
Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the Austin at the State Tournament, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Texas. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and eventually releasing our preseason Top 30 teams in the state.
Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our players of the week and updating the Top 30 teams in the state.
*Please note that all information is based on team preview questionnaires that were sent out and returned by the participating high school coaches.

Team Outlook:
Coach Jones and the Jesuit Rangers have been a model of consistency since he arrived there. Last year they went 23-9 with a 2nd place district finish. This years team returns some quality starters in key positions and they have a loaded group of underclassmen coming through the pipeline. District 7-6A is tougher than years past, but the Rangers will be in the mix at the end.
Jesuit returns 8 starters from last years bunch, including the dynamic duo up the middle in Sr. Nick Barber and Soph. Jake Fults. That is a good defensive duo that should contribute offensively in a big way this year. Jonah Timmons also looks to have a big year on the infield. They also welcome back some of their veteran OF bats in Cal Singhania and Dominic Migliore. Jesuit has a really good catching situation in Jr. Gavin Hickey and Soph. Switch Hitter Myles Mayse (Oklahoma) They both are good defensively behind the plate and add value in the batter's box. Jesuit also has a bunch of talented freshman, Shane Parker, Braxton Barber, James Jorgenson, and Taylor Haddock are all very talented players. The Jesuit infield should be loaded for years to come .
On the mound Jesuit should be able to match up with anyone. There are a lot of good arms in their district, but Fults, Sr. RHP Jack Barr and Sr. LHP Luke Isett give the Rangers a formidable staff. Look for Jr. LHP Logan Allen and Jr. RHP Aiden Emmerton to also fill big roles for the staff.
Jesuit is always one of the most well rounded teams in the area, and are very well coached. By the end of the spring, as the young guys gain experience, Jesuit could be a tough out for anyone.
