The 2023 high school baseball season is underway with practice having started and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Texas
Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the Austin at the State Tournament, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Texas. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and eventually releasing our preseason Top 30 teams in the state.
Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our players of the week and updating the Top 30 teams in the state.
*Please note that all information is based on team preview questionnaires that were sent out and returned by the participating high school coaches.

Team Outlook:
The Eaton Eagles come into the 2023 flying under the radar as they are in the same district as defending state champion Southlake Carroll and perennial powerhouse Keller High, but Coach Fatheree and staff have a talented team and are sound up the middle which makes this Eagles team dangerous.
On the mound, Eaton will be led by LHP Braydon Risley, whose stuff continues to tick up and we could see him pitching in the low 90's this spring. It isn't just velo with him though, he is able to manipulate the baseball and make it tough to barrel up. Joining him on the mound will be Sr. Nathan Nunez and they are looking for some talented yet inexperienced arms to step up as the season goes on.
Offensively, Jr. Nathan Tobin is the headliner for Eaton. The Texas A&M commit is a toolsy LHH that should hit at the top of the lineup and roam centerfield with his plus speed. They have a really good defensive catcher in Sr. Elijah George, who has the best pop times in program history. Sr. Derek Martinez will lockdown the SS position. He was an all district performer last year and is committed to Northeast Texas CC. Easton Andrews, who is committed to Redlands JC, offers some juice from a CIF position. Jr. Clayton Klapprodt also provides some big power potential in the lineup and is poised for a breakout season.
Eaton has a lot of good pieces in place, and if some of the young guys step up the Eagles could make district 4-6a look a little different than years past.
