The 2023 high school baseball season is underway with practice having started and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Texas
Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in the Austin at the State Tournament, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many ofthe teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Texas. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and eventually releasing our preseason Top 30 teams in the state.
Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our players of the week and updating the Top 30 teams in the state.
*Please note that all information is based on team preview questionnaires that were sent out and returned by the participating high school coaches.

Team Outlook:
The Frenship Tigers have become one of the most consistent programs in West Texas, and last year was no different. Coach Reynolds and his team went 25-11 with a 15-3 District and a Regional Quarterfinalist Finish. The Tigers return some firepower on the mound, and plenty of bats that contributed in big ways last year.
On the mound, Frenship has one of the better 1, 2 combos in the region. Sr. LHP Ryland Morin will look to anchor the pitching staff after taking home District Pitcher of the Year honors last year. The Lefty is signed to go to Odessa College. Jr. RHP Brooks Roberson will be the other district starter. The Team Texas Future Game member was lights out in his outing last summer at LakePoint, and he eventually committed to Louisiana Tech after. Junior LHP Landon Hutcheson will also provide some quality innings for the Tigers staff.
Offensively, Frenship returns some firepower led by a trio of juniors in Hutcheson, SS Brady Boles and 3B Nano Mendoza. All 3 batted over .340 last year on their way to 1st team All District Selections. Roberson will also provide a quality left handed stick and play the OF while he isn't pitching. Also, look for contributions from Sr.'s Carson Heise and Ethan Curbo at the plate.
Frenship has had a lot of success over the year, and this team is poised to make another deep run. Coach Reynolds has an experienced team and I expect them to make another deep run this spring.
