Central Texas Fall ID: Quick Hits
October 3, 2023
TEXAS - On September 30, the PBR Texas team hosted the Central Texas Fall ID at Salado High School. The day started off by the players running a 60, then throwing from their defensive positions, followed by each player taking a round of batting practice. It was capped off by pitchers throwing bullpens. Today, we take a closer look at some of the standouts from the day.
Quick Hits
Keaton Mach LHP / 1B / Troy, TX / 2024Mach put up impressive numbers at the plate Saturday, as he had the top exit velocity on the day at 99.7 mph. Mach is a physical kid, standing 6’2 203 lbs, starts with a slightly open stance, and does a job of loading on the backside and creates good separation. He has good bat speed as well, giving him the ability to drive the ball with authority to all fields. Mach should continue to develop into his power, and could be poised for a big senior season. |
Grant Moore OF / LHP / Carroll, TX / 2024Moore is a physical, athletic two way prospect from Southlake. The LHP/OF has a strong build, and it shows up in his numbers. He started his day by running a 6.76 60 and then followed that up with a 92 mph bullet from the outfield. Moore also showed the ability to drive the ball in the batter’s box. He was at his best when he stayed in the big part of the field, where his strength and bat speed allowed him to hit the ball to all fields with power. Moore also hopped on the mound and touched 85.7 from the left side. He has a good amount of ASR on the fastball to go with a quality changeup. Overall, a really good day for Moore. |
Colby Fowler OF / LHP / Lago Vista, TX / 2025Rankings StateRank: 106 / POS: 24
Fowler is a twitchy athlete from Lago Vista HS, and the talented LHH looked sharp on Saturday. He started his day by running a 7.04 and he plays even quicker than that time. He has a good arm from the outfield, as he maxed out at 89 mph. At the plate, Fowler showed some pop to all fields, and was at his best when he was driving the ball to the left center gap. Fowler has a top of the lineup profile with the ability to add some pop as well. A really good day for Fowler. |
Hudson Hartgrove SS / 3B / Cedar Ridge , TX / 2025Rankings StateRank: 64 / POS: 12
Hartgrove showed off some tools on Saturday as well. The Jr. infielder from Cedar Ridge started his day by running a 6.93 60, showing good athleticism. He followed that up by putting on an impressive showing with the glove, where he looked comfortable going all directions. He showed off a plus arm, topping out at 91 mph, giving him enough arm to play any position on the dirt. Hartgrove had a nice round of BP as well. The RHH has a pull centric approach where he really looks to do damage. He can drive the ball with authority the other way as well. |
Ricardo Seda SS / C / Lago Vista, TX / 2024Seda has really impressed the PBR Texas staff since we saw him in June. Seda can do a little bit of everything on the field and has some projection left as well. We have seen him look impressive behind the plate, and on Saturday he showed nicely on the dirt. He has the range and arm to play all over the infield, and soft hands as well. Seda has above average bat speed in the box, and consistently sprays hard line drives all over the field. He still has room to gain some strength, and could see an uptick in power once he gets on campus. |
Kannon Baird OF / RHP / Salado, TX / 2025Rankings StateRank: 139 / POS: 31
Baird continues to get more physical and it showed up on Saturday. He ran a 6.8 60 showing some improved quickness. He was also 85 from the OF and topped out at 90 with his max exit velocity. When he stays in the big part of the field, he drives the ball with authority consistently. Where I like him the most is on the mound, Baird has a loose arm and a fastball that plays. He was up to 83 on this day, but he has been higher. The life on his fastball really makes the velo play up. He will get up to 22 in. of IVM on his fastball giving him the ability to throw up in the zone. He throws a good 12 to 6 curveball that pairs nicely with the top of the zone fastball. He also flashed a quality changeup that showed good ASR. Baird continues to impress with each showing we see him. |
David Litle SS / 2B / Midway , TX / 2025Rankings StateRank: 124 / POS: 25
The talented infielder from Midway HS is coming back from injury, but looked really good on Saturday. He has the arm to play anywhere on the infield, it was 85 on Saturday, but has been higher in the past. He has good actions, with a good first step, giving him the chance to stay up the middle long term. At the plate, LItle has the ability to drive the ball from gap to gap with authority. There is some present strength there, with room for more. Litle does everything well on the field, and should have a monster senior season. |
