As we prepare for the inaugural Commonwealth Classic tournament, our staff would like to highlight what to expect from the #14 Cox Falcons in this tournament, as well as some of their potential top performers.
Tournament Schedule: April 1st at 10:00 am vs #11 Benedictine (Site: Shepherd Stadium)
April 1st at 4:00 pm vs TBD (Site: TBD), April 3rd (Opponent, Site, & Time TBD)
The Cox Falcons are off to a hot start. They have tallied four early wins, the most recent a walk off victory over cross town rival, Ocean Lakes. In four games the Falcon Boys have allowed only three runs and their combination of arms has been very strong. Cox has one of the best, most complete infield groups around, anchored by senior Joseph Munitz (Lynchburg) and three year starter Austin Irby (ECU). Their top two arms are Michael Irby (ECU) and an uncommitted junior in Jake Colucci. The Falcons are physical, talented, and play with energy. It should make for a fun game first round game versus an equally talented #11 Benedictine Cadets team.
