Today we are releasing our first update to the Virginia/DC Power 25. While some teams were still limited in action in the early season, we have a few new teams that have entered, as well as three teams that have dropped out of the rankings.
Making the biggest jump is new #9 Collegiate Cougars. Collegiate is off to a blazing hot start, especially the Cougar offense. The front half of the order has been huge for the VISAA Division I power. Collegiate came in as our biggest sleeper in VISAA I and this is evidence as to why.
Three teams have gone from unranked, to inside the Power 25. Now #17 Madison beat current #18 Riverside, as well as convincing victory over Marshall in the previous week. Bryce Eldridge (Alabama) has been the leader and dominant force that we all expected, but the Warhawks have plenty of other upperclass talent to make this team a strong force in VHSL 6A.

Newly ranked #24 Nansemond River enters after a solid start to the season. The Warriors defeated a Top 10 team in Cape Henry and followed it up with a convincing win over King's Fork later last week. The Warriors beat Cape Henry without one of their top players, Aden Judge, who was a little under the weather.

Bishop O'Connell has gotten off to a hot start. They are 7-1, with their only loss coming at the hands of Benedictine on Saturday. The Knights have a big test on Monday versus #5 Gonzaga. O'Connell is well coached, defend, have some pitching depth, and battle at the plate.
