In 2023, our staff would like to take a look at a Virginia/DC high school team that had a big week and earned the honor of Team Of The Week.
This week the award goes to the Highland Hawks. The defending VISAA II State Champs had a statement win in Charleston this past week over the then #1 Oceanside Collegiate. They went 3-1 in the past seven days versus some solid opponents, two of those wins coming in a three day stretch.
Blagen Pado (Longwood), Joey Rogers, Brooks Graham, and Kehler Hamilton are just a few names that had a big week at the plate for the Hawks. The offensive opportunities were limited at times and the pitching staff came up big, including William & Mary commit Brennen Card. Card threw four strong innings in their win over Oceanside Collegiate, where he only surrendered three hits and one run.
