Region 6B Semifinals

No. 3 Colgan 3, No. 6 Patriot 0
Ryan Kennedy (Virginia Tech) threw a 3-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts. Connor Knox was 2-3 with a 2B for the Sharks. Kevin Warunek (Longwood) wasn't charged with an earned run for the Pioneers, and went 5 IP, 3 R, 3 H, 4 K.

No. 5 Battlefield 8, Potomac 0
Carson Estridge (West Virginia) went 5.2 IP of 5-hit shutout ball with 7 strikeouts in the win while also going 2-3 with 2 RBI at the plate. Adam Kuzmicki (Stony Brook) was 3-4 with 2 RBI. For the Panthers, Matthew Drumgold and Dylan Heil (Marymount) each had 2 hits.

 

Region 6C Semifinals

No. 11 Lake Braddock 12, Robinson 6
Ryan Cuadros (George Mason) tossed 6 innings to pick up the win and went 1-3. Max Jensen (Cornell) was 2-5 with a HR and an RBI and Ben Sopko was 3-3 with 2 RBI. Ryan Quinn had a HR and 3 RBI for the Rams.

West Springfield 3, WT Woodson 0
Jake Roberti (Louisburg CC) threw 4-hit shutout in the win, striking out 8. He also went 2-3 at the plate and Liam Golden (Navy) was 1-3 with an RBI. Brady Lencz was good despite taking the loss, going 7 innings, 3 R, 4 H, and 3 K. 

 

Region 6D Semifinals

No. 1 James Madison 11, No. 20 Herndon 1
Ramsey Collins (UConn) threw 5 innings of no-hit ball with 5 strikeouts to pick up the win. Colin Tuft (Virginia) had a home run and Bannon Brazell was 2-3 with 3 RBI.

Chantilly 7, Yorktown 0
Owen Pierce threw a 1-hit complete game shutout, striking out 13 while also having a hit and an RBI at the plate. Scott Hodinko was 2-5 with an RBI, Garrett Robertson was 2-3 with 2 RBI, and Nathan Lee was 2-4 for the Chargers.

 

Region 5A Championship

No. 2 Frank Cox 5, First Colonial 3
Nathan Hawley (VMI) was outstanding in the first five innings before giving up some in the sixth, ultimately going 5.2 IP, 3 R, 4 H, 6 K to pick up the win for the Falcons, who only had three hits in the game and took advantage of limited scoring opportunities. Fenwick Trimble (James Madison) had 2 RBI.

 

Region 4A Semifinals

Smithfield 11, Grafton 4
The Packers rode a 9-run fourth inning to victory. Tucker Millikin was 2-4 with a 2B, HR, and 4 RBI. Dylan Conyers and Aiden Hedgepeth each had 2 hits and 2 RBI in the win. Reese had a HR for Grafton.

 

 

Region 4B Championship

No. 4 Hanover 12 , Dinwiddie 0
Levi Heusmann (Coastal Carolina) struck out 12 in 6 innings of 4-hit ball to earn the win. Cannon Peebles (Old Dominion) was 3-4 with 2 RBI and Seth Keller (Old Dominion) was 2-2 with 2 BB and 3 RBI.

Region 3A Semifinals

Lafayette 2, Tabb 1
Kevin Cole delivered a walk-off single in the seventh to send the Rams to the Championship game. Luke Hanson (Virginia) threw a complete game 1-hitter and struck out 10 while also going 2-3 at the plate. Tucker Love was strong in the loss, going 6.2 IP, 2 R, 9 H, 4 K.

Colonial Heights 9, Southampton 2
Zach Miller went the distance, allowing 2 R on 5 H with 9 K. Gavyn Pack was 2-3 with a 2B and 3 RBI in the win. John Butler was 2-4 for Southampton.

 

Region 3B Semifinals

Brentsville District 7, William Monroe 5
Kevin Holroyd (Ferrum) was outstanding in relief, going 5 IP, 2 R on 3 H while Brentsville turned a 3-2 deficit into a 7-3 lead and then hung on to win. Brayden Hutchison was 2-4 with a HR and 3 RBI and Mickey Haynes (Randolph-Macon), Beau Lang, and Jackson McCormack all had multi-hit days as well. Hunter Powell was 1-2 with a HR, a BB, and 2 RBI for the Dragons.

Independence 8, George Mason 3
Jack MacDonald threw 5.1 innings of no-hit ball with 8 K while also going 2-3 in the win. David Mendez was 2-4 with a 2B and 2 RBI. Patrick McDonald was 1-1 with an RBI and 2 BB for the Mustangs.

 

Region 3C Semifinals

No. 24 Broadway 5, Spotswood 3
Freshman Bransen Hensley (West Virginia) was 2-3 with 2 RBI and Jacob Petersheim was 1-3 with a 2B and 2 RBI and threw 2 innings of hitless relief with 3 strikeouts to pick up the save. Luke Keister and Elijah Grogg were each 2-4 and Andrew Baugher was 2-3 for Spotswood.

Liberty Christian 6, Western Albemarle 3
Will Thomas threw a complete game 2-hitter for the Bulldogs. Nathan Tucker was 2-4 with a 2B and 2 RBI and Seth Abe' was 2-3 with a 2B, 3B, and 2 RBI. Jacob Lively was 1-3 with 2 RBI for Albemarle. 

 

Region 3D Semifinals

Christiansburg vs William Byrd

No. 9 Abingdon 4, Tunstall 1
Ethan Gibson (Virginia Tech) threw a complete game for the Falcons, allowing 6 H and striking out 9. Chase Hungate (VCU) was 2-3 with an RBI and Caleb Collins was 2-4 in the win. 

 

Region 2D Semifinals

Gate City 9, Virginia 8
Gate City walked it off on an Isaac Vincent RBI single in the seventh. Trevor Herron was 3-4 with 2 RBI, Ethan Fleming was 2-3 with an RBI and a BB, and Brendan Cassidy had 3 RBI.

No. 7 Lebanon 5, John Battle 0
Matthew Buchanan (Virginia) and Seth Buchanan combined to throw a no-hitter in the win. Matthew was also 2-3 with a 2B and an RBI. Anthony Houchins was 2-3 and Preston Steele (Virginia Tech) had a 3B and an RBI.

 

Region 1A Semifinals

Essex 12, Mathews 2
In a game that was 3-2 after four innings, the Trojans were able to pull away against the Mathews bullpen. Holdyn Ambrose went the distance, going 7 IP, 2 R, 4 H, 13 K for the win. Tyler Clark was 4-4 with a 2B and an RBI. Kamren Robinson was 3-4 with 2 2Bs and an RBI and Tahraun Hammond was 3-5 with 2 RBI. Will Jackson was 2-3 for Mathews.

Rappahannock 9, Lancaster 7
Jack Dooley was 3-4 with 3 2Bs and 3 RBI and Slade Keyser was also 3-4 while Wyatt Bunch had 2 RBI for the Raiders. Creston Saunders was 2-5 with a 2B and 2 RBI and Terrance Whady was 2-4 for Lancaster.

 

Region 1D Semifinals

Chilhowie 7, Honaker 2
Daniel Hutton threw a complete game for Chilhowie, striking out 7. DJ Martin was 2-4 with a 2B and 2 RBI and Clint Goodwin was 2-3. Jayson Mullins was 3-4 for Honaker.  

Eastside 14, Holston 4
The game was 4-3 after four and Eastside ended it with a 10-run bottom of the fifth. Blake Jones, Will Stansberry, Jaxsyn Collins, and Isaiah Sexton all had multi-hit games in the win.
