Region 5D Championship
Mountain View 8, Albemarle 0
Michael Arce threw a complete game 5-hit shutout with 8 strikeouts in the win. Nico Rodriguez (Grove City CC) had a HR and 4 RBI for the Wildcats. Austin Bowen was 2-3 for Albemarle.
Region 4A Championship
Menchville 3, Smithfield 2
David Ruiz tossed 5.2 innings of hitless, scoreless relief with 5 strikeouts and had an RBI. Sam Souba was 1-2 with a 3B, a BB, and an RBI.
Region 4D Championship
Halifax County 1, Jefferson Forest 0
Leo Noblin (King) threw a 4-hit shutout in the win, striking out 9. Connor Maggi (Gardner-Webb) was strong for JF and a tough luck loser, going 6 IP, 1 R, 3 H, 10 K. Jaxon Lloyd (VMI) was 1-2 with a BB.
Region 2A Championship
Poquoson 5, Nandua 4
The Islanders scored two in the bottom of the seventh and walked the game off on an RBI single. Tyler Greene was 2-3 with an RBI and Luke Parks was 2-4 for Nandua.
Region 2B Championship
Page County 9, Buckingham 1
TR Williams (Virginia Tech) threw a complete game, allowing 1 R on 3 H with 11 K while also going 3-3 at the plate. Aidan Painter was 3-5 with 2 RBI Caleb Knighton was 2-3 with 2 RBI.
Region 2C Semifinals
No. 8 Chatham 13, Glenvar 3
The Cavaliers scored 13 unanswered to end the game in the fifth. Henry Hurt was 3-4 and Alex Van Pelt was 3-3 with 3 RBI for Chatham. Ryan Bujtler (Liberty) was 2-3 with a 2B and an RBI for Glenvar.
Appomattox County 9, Floyd County 8
Appomattox hung on to win as Floyd scored three in the bottom of the seventh but didn't get a fourth to tie the game. Trey Shock was 3-4 with a HR and 4 RBI and Jake Maner was 2-3 for the Raiders. Garrett Greenman had 3 RBI for Floyd.
Region 1B Championship
Riverheads 19 v Central (Lunenberg) 10
Hunter Lee was 5-5 with a 2B and 3 RBI and Landon Lightner was 4-5 with 2 RBI for the Gladiators. Hunter Word had a HR and Ben Currin was 2-5 with 3 RBI for Central.
Region 1C Championship
Auburn 6, Grayson County 1
The Eagles scored six in the top of the sixth to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 6-1 lead. Carter Keith and Parker Hale combined to allow 1 R and 4 H for the game with Hale throwing 2.1 hitless innings of relief to close out the game. Hale was also 2-4 with a 2B and an RBI and Reed Underwood was 2-4. Cal Campbell threw 4 innings of scoreless 3-hit ball for Grayson.
