As we prepare for the upcoming 2023 season, we continue to spotlight prospects who have impressed over the last year either at workouts or in game action.
Today we're looking at 3 uncommitted 2025 players with some of the best offensive upside we've seen in the class and exciting power potential.

Liam Ostrom 3B / RHP / Ridgefield, WA / 2025Rankings StateRank: 27 / POS: 3
6’2, 220 lbs with stocky strength and powerful levers. In the box, starts tall and upright with lower half slightly open to pitcher. Hands start relaxed at rear shoulder with barrel in a flat position. Takes a low, controlled leg lift that shifts weight into back hip prior to forward stride. Hands pull back slightly and he maintains flexion with arms as he loads. Strong hands initiate quick, powerful swing into contact with noticeable bat speed. Controlled violence in the barrel. Plus power potential. Defensively, has the actions and arm strength to handle either corner INF spot. At 3B, shower a quick hop step in his pre-pitch approach. Stays wide as he moves to the ball and lets it travel into his base. Short arm action with a low ¾ release. At 1B he moves well around the bag and shows the ability to bounce off and make plays to his arm side. Same exchange and arm motion as the hot corner. |

6’6, 205 lbs with an extra wide frame and present strength. Offensively, sets up with a balanced, slightly crouched stance and loose hands. Coils into back hip during low leg lift and retracts hands with a deep scap load. Shorter stride length into contact. Upper half stays compact with tight rotation to initiate swing. Barrel shows depth and plate coverage in the swing. Avoids getting steep and has a controlled uphill path at finish. Potential for plus raw power as he matures. Defensively, moves easily for his size with long, ranging strides and plenty of noticeable control. Showed the ability to break down with footwork and get behind the ball both in the air and when coming through on the ground. Does a nice job keeping momentum behind throws. Uses a step behind side shuffle for momentum with a full arm path into a high ¾ release. Consistent carry on throws with true ball flight. |

6’5, 230 with good balance of size & strength throughout his frame. Simplified approach in the box with a tall, upright stance and few moving parts in the swing. Lower half uses a no-stride move with a slight coil from his front foot before rotating down into his heel. Hands start relaxed then shift down and back to slot barrel into the zone. Stays centered in his core and rotates through contact with leverage and a tall base. Loose, fluid hands that stay connected and control the barrel. Stays short to the ball despite long levers up top. High, lofted finish after contact. Chance to hit for plus raw power as he develops. Defensively, moves easily around the bag at 1B and has sound footwork. Provides a big catch radius. Has mobility in the hips and can play down to the ball well for a taller prospect. Smooth glove hand on the exchange with a clean arm action from ¾ slot. Strong, accurate arm from 1B. Strong profile as a L/L power bat. |
