Green Bay Preseason ID: Blast Motion Board

Kevin Cronin
Tech Analyst, Area Scout

On Feb. 27, PBR Wisconsin hosted its first annual Green Bay Preseason ID at the brand new Impact Sports Academy in De Pere, Wis. Nearly 100 players made it out to this event, providing us with updated looks and a new list of prospects to follow in an area of Wisconsin that’s begun to produce more and more next-level talent.

Earlier this week we published Quick Hits highlighting the top prospects of the event by class. We also rolled out a Statistical Analysis, bringing you a quick statistical analysis of those that participated in the event. We then dove deep into the data, looking at the pitch metrics and batted ball numbers from this event inside our TrackMan Files piece.

Today, with the help of our Blast Motion sensors, we're analyzing the swing metrics measured on Saturday at this high-caliber showcase.

Hand Speed (Peak & Average)

Rank Name State School Class Pos Hand Speed (max)
1 Benje Hencke WI West De Pere 2023 3B 29.4 mph

6 Aaron Young WI West Bend West 2023 3B 23.4 mph

Peak Hand Speed: The observed maximum speed as measured on the handle of the bat (measured six inches from the knob of the bat). Peak Hand Speed will occur prior to the moment of impact, very close to the commit time in the swing when the wrists unhinge.

Bat Speed (Average)

Rank Name State School Class Pos Bat Speed (avg)
1 Rheis Johnson WI Denmark 2023 C 74.9 mph
2 Aaron Young WI West Bend West 2023 3B 74.7 mph
3 AJ Korth WI Menasha 2023 OF 74.3 mph

7 Brady Koester WI Kimberly 2024 LHP 72.7 mph
8 Pryce Gregoire WI De Pere 2025 1B 72.6 mph

Bat Speed: The observed speed of the sweet spot of the bat at impact. The sweet spot of the bat is measured six inches from the tip of the bat.

Rotational Acceleration (Peak & Average)

Rank Name State School Class Pos Rot. Acc (max)
1 Benje Hencke WI West De Pere 2023 3B 41.3 g
2 Keagan Wheeler WI Bay Port 2025 RHP 26.4 g

5 Lucas Koskey WI De Pere 2025 3B 23.8 g

Rank Name State School Class Pos Rot. Acc (avg)
1 Benje Hencke WI West De Pere 2023 3B 31.3 g
2 Keagan Wheeler WI Bay Port 2025 RHP 22.6 g
3 Brandon Bates WI Seymour 2024 RHP 22.4 g
4 Brady Coons WI Kimberly 2024 C 20.6 g
5 Lucas Koskey WI De Pere 2025 3B 20.3 g
6 Jack Collins WI Notre Dame Academy 2025 OF 19.9 g
7 Aiden Hoffmann WI Preble 2024 2B 19.8 g

Body Rotation: A swing that has the appropriate relative contributions of body and bat rotations is an efficient and Powerful swing that maintains proper sequencing. An efficient baseball swing is one in which the body creates the initial movements, which is then transferred to the arms and out to the bat, thereby maximizing Bat Speed through this proximal-to-distal kinematic sequencing movement pattern.
