Kenosha Preseason I.D.: Statistical Analysis

PBR Wisconsin’s first event of 2019 was held over the weekend on Jan. 26 at Fielder’s Choice Training Academy, the Kenosha Preseason I.D., from Kenosha, Wis. Over 70 prospects made it to the showcase, from both Illinois and Wisconsin, and we’ll continue our event coverage today by sharing some statistical analysis.

Today, we’ve compiled lists of the top performers in each of the showcase's measured statistical categories, including the prospect who's peppered all over this list: Crystal Lake South's Jacob Bimbi.

The junior two-way prospect, as mentioned in yesterday's Quick Hits post, came away from the event as arguably the most intriguing talent. We had yet to see Bimbi at a PBR event and he topped the stat charts of both fastball velocity and outfield velocity. He's a sound athlete and also recorded one of the day's fastest home-to-first marks. Bimbi has earned himself a big debut the next time the PBR Illinois staff updates its Class of 2020 Rankings.

In Wisconsin, Marquette's Jonah Wronski produced the second quickest pop time and the highest velocity from out of the crouch. Sophomore righty Alex Windey (Wrightstown) was another big winner on the day and had the second firmest velocity from the mound in Kenosha. Lastly, there were a handful of Westosha Central prospects who made their mark at the event and sophomore two-way player Kyle Mitchell landed on both the outfield velocity and fastball velocity leaderboards.
